London Fashion Weekend: 25 February 2012

Yesterday I went to another edition of London Fashion Weekend at Somerset House. A quick reminder: London Fashion Week is a trade event for fashion industry professionals who must register or be invited in order to attend.   Vodafone London Fashion Weekend is the consumer event that follows directly on from London Fashion Week, using the same exhibition and catwalk venue. Vodafone London Fashion Weekend is essentially a designer shopping event, where members of the public can shop from designers of London Fashion Week calibre, from the high profile to the emerging, at reduced prices. My post about September 2011 event.

It sad to say that for me every time the quality of London Fashion Weekend is getting worse. Maybe this time it was because I was very tired, maybe because I went on the busiest time, but the bad taste remained. The crowds are impossible to deal with and to be honest I felt more on the Oxford Street rather than on the fashion event.

For the first time, I didn't buy a ticket to go to a Catwalk show and I do not regret it. After the last time's disappointment in September 2011, I thought that it would be better to save the money and spend it later in Topshop.

Another issue was that on every corner they are selling the Show Bags, but if you have already bought it and want to collect, you have to go to the one place right at the end. Also, I remember when Show Bags were very limited (unless you've bought them earlier on the Internet you couldn't get them), so the items were great - limited edition full-sized Elizabeth Arden eye shadows, Reiss umbrella... Now, because the whole event is so commercialised (to the point of extreme), the Show Bags are everywhere. Naturally, they no longer have the same quality. Very sad. Some may say that I'm going to the event, not to get a Show Bag, but for me it is a part of experience and I have to pay for it, so I'd expect to get something I pay for.

One of the things I've noticed this time is that the age-range has increased - from little girls to older ladies who shop till they drop. It is nice to see around teenage girls with mums. Likewise, there are more Drop in sessions available: Benefit Brow & Lash Bar, Broadway Nail Bar, The Cowshed SPA and Elizabeth Arden Makeovers.

All in all, I am now even more convinced that I won't be attending next time, if I won't find any good deal to buy the tickets. It's better to save up for the Wishlist Items.

I wore these nails during the London Fashion Week.

I wanted something with a twist - and thinking of last season's Topshop dalmatian nails, I thought that I will give these a go. I got a lot of questions asking if these were stickers or which beauty salon can I recommend. All thanks to the WAH Nail Art Pen! Honestly, I can't believe I've managed to live without it! I've heard that Superdrug will launch its own brand nail art pens soon and I really want to check them out - I saw some glittery ones, but I'd love white and red - so many options with these two!

Also, I wasn't planning to go to the London Fashion Weekend, but thanks to my friend who found this amazing deal (Shop & Bag Ticket Offer: £16.50 from £24.50), I'm gonna be out and about there tomorrow. I've decided not to go for the catwalk show this time, but rather save for some cute stuff like this!

I just love the details.

For me, they make the whole outfit unique and even with one little bow or some sparkle you can create something entirely unique.

My absolute favourite from this A/W 2012 London Fashion Week are the pony Jeffrey Campbell shoes - so cute, adorable and amazing I am left speechless (and DIY project!).

The other thing that caught my eye were all the neon additions - especially the neon feathers in the hair (another DIY project) and shoes.

London Fashion Week: Friday 17 February 2012

London Fashion Week has arrived!

Today I've been wandering around Somerset House, registered, took a quick look at the exhibition and spotted some British celebrities like Kitty Brucknell, Alexandra Burke and Pixie Lott. I also saw Dvora from Fashionistable, who has amazing street-style blog, check it out if you haven't yet! I didn't stay long, because I was absolutely freezing - I wore short-sleeved blouse and a light jacket, which wasn't preventing the cold successfully. Thankfully, I had flats, so was able to run around (the irony is that I got blister from wearing flats, not from wearing high chunky heels last time!).

Valentine's Day Gifts

As a part of out celebrations, I've bought tickets for yesterday's BAFTA Interview with Mad Men's Jon Hamm at Curzon Cinama Mayfair. I am planning to do huge post about the whole interview, but probably after a London Fashion Week's dust settles down.

Also, tomorrow I am going to an Evening Talk with Anna Dello Russo, the editor-at-large and creative consultant for Vogue Japan at V&A Museum. It will be my second time when I go for an Evening Talk - for the coverage of my evening with Christian Louboutin click here.

This is my Valentine's Day outfit. I've decided in a last minute to make mermaid hair, it took longer than I thought. So I'm uploading these photos super-fast and going out.

Every year I am wearing red or pink for the Valentine's Day and to be honest I got little bored of it. I had this LOVE Urban Outfitters belt as a base. I've bought it together with the PEACE belt, which you can see here and here.

the rest were just safe additions like Primark skirt and New Look wedges. I like the Primark shirt too - the white buttons (I may change them in the future) and a Peter Pan collar are just two bonuses. The claw ASOS ring looks fierce, I am very happy to buy it on sale too!

Sorry for my horrible grins on these photos, but the sun was in a super-shining mode and I just couldn't help it not to squint. The Topshop coat has been one of my best SALE buys this season. I tried it on and it lingered on my mind for one week. I know when something like this happens, I really want something. Every year I try to buy a new coat which will last a couple of seasons - that way I have something new and in the wardrobe there's something to choose from. I'm wearing horse riding shoes, because my wellies have a terribly childish design and I'd look like 10 year old wearing them. Paul's Boutique bag has a great capacity for a blogger's meet (or Fashion Week) to take notebook, wallet, BlackBerry, cosmetic case and boyfriend's huge (and heavy) camera.

The Only Way Is Blogging - February 2012

Today I've attended The Only Way Is Blogging (or TOWIB for short) event. TOWIB was set up by Hayley London Beauty Queen as a way to help bloggers to build a community.

The schedule for the day included:

Blogger Bonding Sessions (with the help of tea and scones - YUM!);
Ebuzzing (how to optimize search ranking and how to make money from the blog);

Useful stuff that I've learnt is that aspiring bloggers should show passion, regular updates and creativity if they seek interest from the PR companies. Also, good photos and style is preferred.

Unfortunately I knew majority of the topics covered, so it was probably mostly useful for the band new bloggers.

All is all, it was an interesting day for me to see how the other bloggers are engaging with the community and to meet few new ones in person!

I got these beautiful wedges for £10 (reduced from £18)!

Considering how rare for me is to find my shoe size in Primark (FYI: it's UK 3/EU 36/US 5.5), especially on sale, it must have been a destiny. Plus, I've braced myself to check the store out on Saturday afternoon. It was madness. Pure madness. People were everywhere. Best to venture with your boyfriend - he can hold the stuff and a basket while you rummage through the shelves!

I was dreaming about a dress like this (grey and midi) for a while now. I saw one in Topshop, with the longer sleeves, a couple of months ago, but the price was too steep (you can buy a similar one to mine, also in Topshop - here is the link). I was very happy to see mine in H&M SALE! Do you also have sometimes this moment that something you are lusting for, suddenly appears on sale or as a similar item in a different store? I love moments like this! (As far as I can see on my Twitter account, lots of people has been snapping lusted after items in the recent sales, so I guess you know what I mean.)

I don't have many statement necklaces, only few ones. This one has been bought in Primark for £1 only! I thought that even if I won't be wearing it, it's only £1! But now I already know that it's gonna be one of my most-worn S/S 2012 items!

Sleek Oh So Special Eyeshadow Palette

I am a complete inexperienced when it comes to eye shadows and eye make up. I usually end up applying lots of The Body Shop Super Volume mascara and a little bit of pale pink Bourjois eye shadow and that's it. I much more prefer lots of blusher and a statement lipstick.

However, ever since I saw Sleek palettes, I've decided I need to have one to try it out and maybe learn something new (at last!). Sleek Make Up is more and more popular in the UK and so far I've tried lipstick and lip paint from the range. Maybe the package is not the nicest one, but the contents seem more than fine.

After long thoughts, I've chosen Oh So Special Palette, you can check the other ones here. Mostly because it is a natural palette and has a good range of colours to blend between. I am very happy about my choice, although I was hesitating between Storm I-Divine (sold out in shops) and Me, Myself & Eye (unfortunately only available on-line). I think after mastering some basics I can invest in something better, but for now I think it'll be proud of myself for using all of the eye shadows from this palette.

I can't believe I was thinking of returning this ZARA skirt (even if the price was out of my range at that time)! I like teaming it up with the sheer Primark blouse - the detailed collar and white buttons are a great touch.

I saw Madonna's W.E. the other day and the longer I think about it, the more I like it. I love the clothes in the movie - the glamorous silky dresses and everyday suits of Wallis Simpson. She claimed not to be beautiful, but that she knew how to dress well. I can't deny it.

Elle Magazine (March 2012)

March issue of ELLE magazine has a free gift: Soap & Glory mascara (worth £10).

Since Soap & Glory make up was launched not so long ago, I wanted to try something out. However, I've spent my money on MAC lipstick and other stuff, so the plans of checking the make up range were put for the future.

I am so happy to try Thick & Fast Super Volume Mascara - so far I've tried it a couple of times and I can honestly say it is worth the price.

My all-time favourite mascara is The Body Shop Super Volume Mascara, but now it has a serious contender. Plus, they're the same price, so I think I may invest in it later in the future.

This top is from the latest Primark S/S collection. They are for £4 only which is a bargain. A little bit see-through though and I think suited for hand-wash only, but it's still a bargain. I also got another one in a very cute leopard print, which I'm going to post about very soon (simply can't wait to wear it!). I've kind of missed the scalloped trend, because I didn't find anything I liked last year (and the things I loved were way too pricey), so I'm happy to combine two here - spots and scalloped.

I am really into black and white outfits lately with a splashes of colour here and there. I'm yearning for colour, but when I open my wardrobe and start to look at my clothes, I just ~~struggle to (clothes overload)~~ pull out monochrome colours. I am also wearing New Look wedges a lot. They are just so comfy!

LOVE magazine always has an eye-~~shocking~~catching and fashion-forward covers. Sneak preview of the issue that comes out on February 7 features Kate Moss and Lara Stone on the cover. The photo taken by Mario Testino, has models posing in a warm embrace, in similar hairstyles and make up with cat ears on their heads.

Blue background, freckles and blond loose hair makes me think of summer, sea and fun. But the thing I love most are the cat ears - so carefree, cute and at the same time - a new must-have fashion accessory. Great stuff for DIY!

I love the colour of this Primark sweater - neon yellow. So unusual and cheerful. I wanted to wear something warm and this definitely was a good choice. The H&M skirt brings memories of one of my first London Fashion Weekends which I attended. I love the different zippers, even though I usually have no idea how to team it up with the stuff in my closet. Warm tights are a must lately and I cannot wait for the spring to come! (This post is super weird, but I'm writing it with a fever, so please - may I be excused.)

Yesterday I went to see Leonardo da Vinci: Painter at the Court of Milan exhibition at National Gallery. It was insane for two reasons. Firstly, the paintings and drawings are astonishing. The two versions of Leonardo’s ‘Virgin of the Rocks’ – belonging to the National Gallery and the Louvre – are also shown together for the first time - even Leonardo himself didn't see these two together in the same room. However, there is a less pleasant issue - overcrowding. It was seriously impossible to get to some of the works without waiting for at least 5 minutes in a queue. I have new found 'respect' for the older ladies, who were simply vicious and merciless in their fight for the best spot.

Because I knew I'll be walking a lot today and didn't want to burden myself with a large bag (there's nothing more annoying than taking it around in a small crowded space), I've decided to take my H&M foxy bag. Can something be any more adorable? Also, the Primark shirt, bought on sale rack for around £5, proved to be a great investment. I love the minted colour and the fact that it is oversized.

I adore the Primark gilet - it's warm, has super-stylish fake fur statement shoulders and bling buttons - I was totally amazed when I saw it in store and I know I'll wear it for a long time. As a lover of foxes, I couldn't resist ASOS fox top, it is just too cute!

And when I came back home my mum's puppy was very glad that someone will take her for long walks

So yesterday I showed you how beautiful Warsaw is, so now it's time to show what I wore on the trip. I am wearing my favourite River Island Fox Hat which you can read more about in my posts here and here. Surprisingly, it wasn't cold in Poland and there was no snow over Christmas, much to my boyfriend's disappointment! A funny little story is that when my boyfriend was taking these shots a huge dog was on a walk with his owner and when the doggie saw me, he cowardly run to hide behind its owner. He was so scared of me! I guess he really believed that I am some kind of foxy animal. We were laughing all the way back.

I know that this post is slightly overdue, but I just couldn't deny myself a pleasure of writing it. I absolutely love posts like this - I think its because I'm a little bit nosey. Presents I am most happy about are iPad 2, Kindle and Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Tour DVD. But all of my family and friends were super generous and thoughtful. Lovely Sarah from citygirlsfashionbox.blogspot.com had a great idea for a Christmas Bloggers Party. The idea behind it is that before the festive celebrations actually start, we decide on our dream Christmas outfits. Dreams are free, right? So I can just loose the reins of my imagination and choose two most amazing outfits: one designer and one high-street.

DESIGNER

If money was no object for me, I would totally channel neon colours in a designer way. I love the Christopher Kane neon pleated wool-blend crepe dress (£895). This dress shows a sweet silhouette with a shock of neon-pink, creating this must-have pleated wool-blend crepe dress (perfect for staying warm). To accentuate the waist, I've decided to add Valentino's studded leather waist belt (£280). Studs are big news these past seasons and still going strong. This versatile piece will work around the clock - and you can even wear it with printed shorts by day or with a minimalist LBD for cocktails. To go further with new-season styles, I wanted to add lustrous silver accents and contrasting fluorescent heels. Diane von Furstenberg 'Elan' leather and rubber wedges (£290) are just perfect. The architectural wedge heel and lime-green rubber strap shows that you can dress from the feet up. One of the items on my Dream Fashion Wishlist has been Lulu Guinness' 'Lips' clutch (£225). This acid yellow matched the heels and gives an extra colour to the outfit. I personally would like to own a clutch in a more toned-down colour, but this is my ultimate Christmas Party Outfit, so I assume, I already have few in my closet! A final piece are Solange Azagury-Partidge 18-karat gold plique-à-jour drop earrings (£3,500). They provide the perfect vivid green hue.

The high-street version is much more wallet friendly, but it doesn't mean less stylish! I wanted to create something else and went for a metallic tee and skirt from Topshop Boutique. I think they go together perfectly. The tee (£60) has a perfect pearly-like colour and shine. Blue skirt (£70) has one of the most wonderful tulip shapes and just left me speechless the minute I saw it. I know it would be perfect piece to invest and wear even with the simplest grey T-shirt. To add some heights, I went for the Topshop 'Cherry Trim Lillie' sandals (£65). The detail is just adorable and I love the green see-through heels. I've been lusting after these for ages now, so I'm happy to include them here and share with you. To carry around lipstick and pocket mirror, ASOS Nude Feather Clutch (£25) seems just perfect. I always had soft spot for feather trimmed bags. The jewellery pieces are more bold ones than in the DESIGNER section above. Topshop Rope and Mesh Stone Necklace (£20) will look wonderful on the pearly-white tee, especially if you team it up with the Topshop Premium Tribal Head Earrings (£25). I am very surprised these two were not from the same collection! To add a final sparkle, you can put on Topshop Mystic Stone Ring (£8,50). Even the name makes me shiver - I hope it makes the dreams come true!

Versace Cruise for H&M sneak preview

So the latest H&M and designer collaboration was met with global hysteria when the collection hit the stores. Shoppers queued all night long to snap Versace pieces. Others were restlessly checking the H&M website which (surprise, surprise) crashed and became available when almost all of the pieces were sold out. There were also few lucky ones - including me - who were able get the access super early (read about my experience).

But this is not the end. The final collection by Versace for H&M will go on sale on 19 January 2012 and will be sold on-line only. Lets just hope the website won't have the same problems as before.

I think that the new Cruise collection will be more to everyone's taste. The original collection was more like a Marmite - you either loved it or hated it. I admit that some of the pieces were too outrageous for everyday wear and it was more an attempt to introduce haute couture to a high street shop in a bad way. However, I don't want to generalise - some of the pieces I've bought I know I'll be wearing for a really long time.

Similar thing is with the Verasce's Cruise for H&M collection. There is a range of beachwear, jewellery, loungewear, accessories and clothes - dresses, jeans and T-shirts. All in bold colours, pretty fruity prints with touch of white and gold. It is also in my opinion more lazy - the gold high-heeled sandals seem to be the exact copy of the silver ones I got myself.

Sequins and fake fur don't come as a natural combination when you think of an outfit. But after being inspired by various bloggers I've decided to try this trend out. Mixing patterns and materials is what I want to explore more and more. Not to be boring with all the black, white and hint of gold, I've added lime ASOS bow headband in the last minute. It's also great for that extra special measure (besides hairspray) to tame my hair in this windy weather.

I have to pack today, because I'm flying home tomorrow. I absolutely detest packing. I usually just throw stuff in my bags, but this time I've actually attempted to make a list - mainly because I have so much presents to take with me! I am also excited about duty-free shopping! And of course seeing my family and friends back home, decorating Christmas tree, eating lots of homemade sweets and enjoying the snow.

This ASOS ring has been on my wishlist for ages and I said to myself that I'll finally get it as a small gift. It is weirdly too small for me for the middle finger and too big for smaller ones, so I have to wear it in a spot I'm constantly scared it will fall off. The chunky gold necklace I got ages ago for £1 - I love promotions in Primark! Black tulle skirt is from Primark too - I love style like this and I couldn't resist the low price. So much, that I even bought similar one in rusty colour.

I really like how my outfit is all black and gold. I've been wearing lots and lots of black lately. I was never a person to wear black (when I came to London to study I didn't own a single black item!) but as I get older I appreciate its versatility.

I've spent a great weekend going to the cinema (My Week With Marilyn and Another Earth), singing Christmas carols at Trafalgar Square (and witnessing a riot), drinking lots of festive coffee flavours, shopping and ice-skating at Tower of London. It was also my last weekend of 2011 in London - I am super-excited to go home, but I'll be missing here too.

I guess this is a quintessence of the recent bloggers style in the UK. The New Look shirt proved to be an absolute hit and I saw it on so many blogs that I've eventually caved in and bought it. I really like it the collar is very pretty with the details and the bow tie is like a cherry on the top. The Primark skirt is another hit and I start to appreciate it's versatility for everyday look or something more stylish like this outfit.

I got these leggings yesterday. I wanted different design - more rusty, orange and brown, but there was no my size, so I've settled for these. Apparently, lots of people is returning them, because they stretch easily on the thigh area and can become see-through. I have no huge problem with this, because I wear leggings with tunics or oversized t-shirts/jumpers/shirts anyway, so this area is covered. The leggings are surprisingly warm - maybe not for a super-windy day or freezing temperatures, but I'm planning to wear them on Sunday to Winter Wonderland (yes - I'm going there again - I just can't get enough).

I really hate that it is getting dark so soon - no chance for the nice looking photos. Plus, I look as pale as a ghost and am in a desperate need for some fake tan. Just give me some time. Correction: I just need to find some free time.

Recently, Barry M has released new addition to their Limited Edition family - in lilac.

I've decided to try it on, but with a twist. I didn't like the brush strokes left, so I've used a new trend - matt top coat.

After searching Superdrug shelves I've found that GOSH makes matt top coat (£4.99).

I actually like the matt effect better than I thought and can't wait to try it on different nail colours! Also, I was expecting my nail to be scratchy and gritty, but it is even just like a normal top coat. You may not see the difference clearly on the photos, but believe me, there is one.

I got these amazing Mickey Mouse sunglasses on eBay after seeing stylish Vivienne wearing them on her blog.
I actually can't wait to wear them all spring and summer!
Also, Lady Gaga wears similar ones in her videos of Paparazzi and Alejandro and as a huge fan I just love this little fact.

Yesterday I went to Winter Wonderland and it was totally mad. The amount of people was seriously crazy and I can be only thankful that we came earlier to get on some of the rides virtually queue-free. The Detonator is now my all time favourite (13 floors down), even though I actually thought I'm going to die. I am always, always, ALWAYS petrified that the protection bars/harnesses/locks are going to open. I've screamed for about 5 minutes above just terrifying my friend more and more. We survived. And I want more.

You may probably remember that I've won a Twitter competition and got a chance to beat the queue and shop the collection before anyone else - 10 minute before the store opened to the rest of the public. You can also see my amazing purchases in this post.

I knew from the start that I wanted to pick up leggings from the collection, because I think they can be a nice touch to the outfit, or an outfit in itself. I was hesitating to buy outlandish palms-on-the-beach ones, but after trying them on, I decided that I looked ridiculous and they are way over the top. So I've settled for these black ones - mainly because I wanted to have something with the Versace logo-type. Plus, black will go with everything, right?

I also bought the earrings and to be honest I regret it now. I cannot return them, because they are jewellery item and they're very heavy. I was wearing them for an hour or two and my ears still hurt in the morning! They are very pretty, but I wish they'd design it in a more practical way.

As for poncho, it is my first one ever! I've never, ever been a fan of them, I thought they look silly and were completely not my style. However, I was pulled into this one because of the print and design. There are two more colours available - burgundy and light brown, but again - black is most versatile.

I had a super-busy weekend - just the type I like! On Saturday we went to see World Press Photo Exhibition at Royal Festival Hall. This annual exhibition showcases examples of the best photojournalism of the past year on world events. Some of the photos are very disturbing and even though I saw some of them in the news during the past year, I still found them distressful.

Then off to Somerset House to see 20 Years of Dazed & Confused Magazine - Making It Up As We Go Along. This multi-layered exhibition immortalises the magazine’s most infamous visual stories, featuring legendary photoshoots, iconic covers, controversial editorial content and artwork from influential photographers, designers, and artists. I was especially moved by the two rooms commemorating Alexander McQueen.

Forgotten Spaces was a huge disappointment though. There is a great idea behind the exhibition - based on an open ideas competition run by the Royal Institute of British Architects, architects, engineers, students and designers of all kinds were invited to submit proposals for overlooked spaces across Greater London like underground climbing tunnels, city grottos or rooftop social hubs. Sadly, most of the projects are unrealistic.

My outfit photos from above were taken in the tunnel which goes around the courtyard of the Somerset House. I highly recommend the free guided tours during which you can learn so much about this place. For example, this tunnel starred in some of the scenes from the recent Sherlock Holmes movie. It is normally closed, but the Forgotten Spaces exhibition is down there, so you can see them without any problems.

The most interesting exhibition was Amazon. It brings together two remarkable photographers (Sebastião Salgado and Per Anders Pettersson) to highlight the plight of the Amazonian rainforest and the people living within it. Every minute, an area of Amazon rainforest the size of three football pitches is lost. Some of the photographs show the devastation of the deforestation and people who need to adapt to the new world.

Today, I saw Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2011 at National Portrait Gallery. It offers a unique opportunity to see sixty works by some of the most exciting contemporary portrait photographers from around the world. Works include portraits of Keira Knightley and Dolly Parton. (Ticket is £2.)

Another interesting display is Scott of the Antarctic marking the centenary of the death of Captain Robert Falcon Scott and his four colleagues in early 1912. Three of the photographs are new acquisitions that are being shown at the Gallery for the first time.

The Primark skirt proved to be a huge hit among British fashion bloggers and I was lucky to snap the very last one in my size a couple of weeks ago at Oxford Street store. The shirt is something which is not usually found in my wardrobe, but recently I've found myself buying a couple of them, including this red number. It is sheer, but not that much, plus you can get away with it with a black bra or spaghetti-strap top. The bow tie from ASOS was something I thought I'd invest in, because I can wear it with lots of clothes to change the outfit into something more. The New Look red wedges are a 100% win-win. Very comfy and give me lots of heights - a huge plus for me! I love wedges, because when I do lots of walking around, they really are the best solution.

Very quick post, I have lots and lots to do today. Plus, I feel like writing Christmas cards - not putting it off for the last minute like I always do. I've done some early Christmas shopping today and I am left with two thoughts: (1) Primark is getting more and more expensive and (2) I am not checking my bank balance - denial is the answer.

My evening with Monsieur Christian Louboutin - Coverage of the Talk with the designer at V&A Museum

For months now I've been waiting for this evening. It was a talk with a legendary French designer Christian Louboutin as he discusses his vision for luxury footwear with the founder of Net-a-Porter, Natalie Massenet. The event was linked to the 20th birthday of the Louboutin's first shop, which was opened in Paris on 21st November 1991 (it seems AGES ago, I was only 4!). Another marking was the last month's release of the book: Christian Louboutin by Christian Louboutin and Philippe Garcia. The book deserves another post from me, I'll just quickly mention that I got a personal dedication from the designer himself and still have to pinch myself that it's actually true.

I've arrived super-early to get best seats, because I've suspected (after attending few similar events) that the seats are on the first-come first-served basis. I was right and managed to grab a seat in a front row, right in front of Mr Louboutin!

The talk was very interesting and provided a great insight into his world and life:

On destiny

He doesn't necessarily believe in destiny. He loved drawing shoes from an early age, but didn't know that this is going to be his job.

On his Mother

She was a huge influential figure and gave him complete freedom, believed that people should be brought up in love. She was beautiful, even though her shoes did not reflect that.

On happiness

Mr Louboutin once said: "I don't know how to be unhappy in life". For him, the important thing is combination of being happy in work and in personal life.

On shoes

For him, shoes have a deeper psychological meaning. It brings posture, transforms the way you walk and act, gives you confidence.

On favourite shoe

It is very complicated for him to choose one shoe design as his favourite, because he enjoys the process of making so much. In addition, certain styles remind him of situations, people and things he came across. However, when pressured by Natalie Massenet which shoe he would try to grab from the fire, he answered that probably The Pump.

On heels

Apparently, no heels and high enough.

On being a woman

When asked what he would do, if he was a woman, he replied without hesitation that he would be in high heels.

On independence

In the days when the majority of the designers have sold their businesses (or big chunk of them), Mr Louboutin is one of the loners, being the sole owner of his business. He is very happy about it and does not want to change it, because he enjoys his freedom.

On red soles

When asked if he thinks that the brand would be as successful as it is now without the signature red soles, he replied that even though it is signature, he does not think about it now - it's automatic. It was also extremely interesting to learn that he initially thought about changing the colour of the soles for each season, but then realized that red goes with everything. Even when woman doesn't wear red, she still has something red like lipstick or nail polish. Also, red sole are a synonym of a message on the street - a red signal when you see someone passing by.

On toe cleavage

It is one of the important aspects of his designs, mainly because it gives the impression of the longer legs. In addition, as the showgirls are his constant inspiration, he tried to design shoe which would work best for them: good enough balance to be able to dance with simultaneously having the longest legs possible. Even though some of the women challenged his idea by saying that it looks disgusting and they feel naked (despite the fact that they are even more 'naked' in sandals), Mr Louboutin still loves it.

On prototype

Apparently the shoe prototype is size 7 US - 37 EU - 4 UK.

I was brave enough to ask him a question after the talk. Believe me, my heart was racing super-fast! I asked What is the best aspect of his job - is it when the design comes to life, or maybe something else. He very charmingly replied that he loves the moment just before the launch of the collection, when all the shoes are neatly presented in rows and he can immerse himself in colours and designs.

Sadly, it was not possible to take pictures with the designer or during the talk, so you're left with me only.

London Christmas Blogger Meet

This is what I wore for #ldnxmasbloggermeet. I'm going to write more about this in the next post and for now I just leave you with the outfit I wore.

Following the majority's advice, I wore the wedges and I am very happy about it. I was a little bit afraid that my feet will hurt, but I've managed to do all the walking (and more!) without any damage. The shoes are so comfy, it's incredible - I think one of the most comfortable wedges/heels I own.

I also wore a Hermione's Time-Turner (which you can read more about in my post here) and it proved to be a huge hit! Thank you all for the wonderful comments! (If you are interested: I got it from my boyfriend - he got it on-line from the Wandsmiths - but I've also spotted it in Hamleys.)

My Versace for H&M

I was extremely happy to hear yesterday that I've won a Twitter competition and a VIP access to The Very Best of Versace for H&M.

I got a chance to beat the queue and shop the collection today before anyone else. 1 winner per store was selected to have a special 10 minute allocated time before the stores open to the rest of the public at 8.50am. So I didn't have to get up really early in the morning and rush to wait in the queue. On the other hand, I waited since 5am in a pouring rain and storm when Jimmy Choo for H&M collection was launched, so I guess karma really do exists. I was planning not to go to the stores and shop on-line this time and I'm even more grateful that I won, because it seems that the H&M website is still crashed.

I've bough silver stiletto heels, red earrings (I think I'll return them - way too heavy), leopard-pink skirt, Versace-logo leggings, black studded dress (I think my favourite).

Hair bun with a twist

For months now I've been obsessing over hair buns, widely used by ballerinas everywhere. I love the romantic effect and the fast styling. It means that I can use it when I don't have ~~time~~ patience to style my hair, but I still want the nice outcome. A side bun in front has already been worn by a number of celebrities like Thandie Newton or seen on a catwalk in 3.1 Phillip Lim.

I like how a simply putting hair on one side creates a completely new fashion feel. Gives me an edgy feel and I know I can experiment with wearing hair loose or slick. You just need to be really confident to wear it.

This dress is super cheap - around £10. There are also different colours like red and navy, but be quick if you want to get one. I like that it has longer sleeves and pretty gold buttons. The shoes are my absolute favourite this season. I wear them almost every day, but sadly right shoe's sole starts to come off, so I need to go to shoemaker.

I'm getting really annoyed with my hair. It's way to long. I think I'll somehow try to survive one more month and I'll go to hairdresser when I get home for Christmas. My experience with hairdresser is 100% not enjoyable. I honestly don't know how a person can relax there. OK, it's nice to get head massage, but when I sit down on the chair and the process of cutting and styling starts, my heart is beating, hands and shaking and all I want to do to run away. I once had a really bad experience when I asked for a fringe and described how I wanted at least 5 times and the result was opposite to what I wanted. I cried all night and the next day. It was so horrible to wait for it to grow back... Even thinking about it gives me creeps.

Obsession: lion paw shoes

Apparently one of the latest must-haves are Christian Louboutin lion paw shoes. The toe of the light brown shoe is split into four protruding segments with a black, jewelled talon on each section. The stiletto heel is also clad in yellow crystals. I love how versatile these shoes are - you can wear them with everyday clothes to be casual with an edge, or team them up with a daring dress and get a sexy look. The pumps from the company's Fall/Winter 2011 collection are called 'Alex', but Louboutin has not revealed why. Just like the price - also a mystery.

First one spotted was Sarah Jessica Parker. She wore the Louboutin heels to the Moscow premiere of We Don't Know How She Does It in August (and also wearing a very cute red number for which she was called a Redi Riding Hood).

Blake Lively and Christian Louboutin are the best of friends, so it is not a surprise that she wore them to shoot a scene from Gossip Girl.

What do you think about them?

I've totally lost it and became 100% obsessed with Lana Del Rey.

Her voice is amazing. Just amazing. Pure class.

It reminds me of the old Hollywood glamour and black & white movies.

And of course her Brigitte Bardot look: big hair, nude lips, dark eye. So 60s.

And FYI: I completely and utterly don't care that her lips are huge.

So far it is her biggest 'flaw' people seem to be focusing on.

So this is what I was wearing today after work and chillaxing (as my good friend E. says). I have so much to catch up on in blogging terms I literally don't know where to start. I need to plan some outfit posts too, because these are ones I really enjoy making. On the other hand, my long hair is starting to get on my nerves and I think the verdict - chop, chop - has already been made. It is now just a matter of when and where.

I am huge Lady Gaga fan, so when I saw this t-shirt in Topman while browsing some stuff for my boyfriend, I told myself: why not? I was thinking of more over-sized, but I already have one (you can see outfit post here). Not a very exciting outfit, I know, but I just couldn't resist showing you this t-shirt.

I was looking for this Zara skirt in at least 4 stores. As usual, people had no idea what I was talking about even thought one of them was in the shopping window! Not good Zara experience. Anyway, I want your opinion, because it's rather expensive and I still have time to return it. Of course I love tulle and sparkles, but somehow I am unsure about this one...

The shoes are another thing. I wanted them in other alternatives - pink or purple, but there weren't any of my sizes, so I've bought these and try to decide at home. They are very pretty and really comfy, but I don't know what can also go with them. I have few ideas like dresses and jeans, but what else?

By the way - is there anyone hating the current weather? I especially don't enjoy the fact that after turning the clock it's getting dark so soon that I can't take proper photos...

Yesterday I went to see Grayson Perry exhibition at British Museum: The Tomb of the Unknown Craftsman. Grayson Perry curates an installation of his new works alongside objects made by unknown men and women throughout history from the British Museum’s collection. ‘This is a memorial to all the anonymous craftsmen that over the centuries have fashioned the manmade wonders of the world… The craftsman’s anonymity I find especially resonant in an age of the celebrity artist.’ A must-see. The objects picked by Perry are a wonderful mash-up of new and old. It just shows how people centuries ago were exactly like us. Or maybe the other way round - we are like them.

I also saw Anonymous directed by Roland Emmerich. It really makes you question some of the facts about Shakespeare. I remember my visit in Stratford-upon-Avon and recently watching performance at the Globe (Dr Faustus). Made me wanna read lots and lots of Shakespeare, but now I am not quite sure I want to. Emmerich says himself that he 'makes movies for masses', so there are no doubts that the story may be blown out of proportion, but I think I'll enjoy looking more into it myself.

As for the outfit, you can see my ASOS bag I bought few weeks ago on sale. On the site, there were actually only silver option pictures and I was a little bit unsure about gold - I was afraid it will be over the top - but my worries were crushed when I saw it. It looks fantastic! Adjustable strap is great addition too. On the not so good note - I had a REALLY bad hair day. Not fun.

Obsession: Turban Hats

I was never too sure about turbans. I mean, I saw Carrie wearing it in the second SATC movie on the Abu Dhabi desert, but still - it's Carrie Bradshaw - she can pull off anything. The turban hat trend reminds me of old Hollywood movies' sirens and my grandmother. I guess I consider my grandma as a siren, she would be happy to hear that.

But recently, browsing through ASOS website, I saw a couple of turban hats which I actually liked. So now I'm thinking of getting one (and need your help deciding!), it would be perfect for my faux fur leopard-print coat. Plus, I'm going home for 3,5 weeks for Christmas holidays and let's face it - I'm going to be freezing and snowed in - so I need to have some ~~warm~~ cute hat.

The Revlon lipstick is one of my newest purchases. For a while now I wanted to try out a dark lips, but I was always worried I will look too weird. I've even contemplated buying Barry M's pure black lipstick, but I thought that it may be too much.

The dark lips are my little pre-Halloween preview. I literally can't wait for the party! I've done my little make up tryout in the evening and even though I've failed (I looked like a beaten up badger) I know it's going to be perfect on a big day. I've already arranged a little rendez-vous with my two make up artist friends (by hobby, not profession), so the results will be amazing. The only thing I'm worried about is the amount of % they're gonna drink and the state we're gonna be in when we get to the actual party.

As for today's outfit - these £5 Primark boots work great in this weather. And the cute fox necklace is another addition to my fox-accessories-growing-family. I love how this season it's all about wild animals!

Excuse me for no outfit post today, but I am typing this like my mum - one letter at a time with my left hand - which takes hours (no wonder she worshippers Google suggestions thing). And here's why... In the morning, I've burnt my two fingers with a curling iron when I've mistaken the hot surface with the tip. I was in the middle of doing my hair, so I had to finish it in pain. Thankfully, it's left hand and I am right-handed. But to make my feel worse, just when I stepped outside the door, it started tom rain, so it was all for nothing - I've looked like a poodle by the time I got to work. Plus, because boyfriend didn't go to buy groceries (as he promised!) we didn't have any bread or milk, so I was forced to eat sushi. Another pack of sushi I've ate for lunch yesterday. Yuck! Why it's always all about the extremes with me?

I have really good posts lined up with my new ASOS and Primark stuff so be on your watch!

I have such soft spot for animal-style jewellery and clothes that I can rarely resist anything - especially withing my price range! And oversized items are so good for being comfy and cool (plus, they can hide that extra ~~slice of cake~~ cake, cookies and chocolate you ate instead of lunch).

I got this Primark raccoon top a while ago, but I remember that it was super cheap and uber big. It is actually size 6, so it's good that I tried it on before leaving the store.

The panther ring is also from Primark and unfortunately the quality reflects it. You can't see it in this photo, but one of the gems has already fallen out. I guess I have to treat it with the nail top coat to prevent further loss... The only thing is that I am pretty sure is that the ring will loose its shiny feel.

Do you like the spiky bracelet? It reminds me of a rock star and is one of my new favourite pieces. I got it in gold too. Very pretty and adjustable, so I think it is one of 3 bracelets I have that doesn't fall from my arm - huge bonus!

On a different note, my lovely boyfriend has his birthday today and I simply have to show you a small part of a card which I gave him. And to prove my cute animal obsession.

This is one of the products I take with me wherever I go. I swear it has crossed oceans, mountains and been on top of the Eiffel tower. I've found it underneath a Christmas Tree a couple of years ago from my boyfriend.

Rose & Co. was created by Patricia and Caroline Rose when they bought an old druggists shop in Yorkshire. With a love of all things vintage, beautiful and romantic, they restored the shop to its former Victorian splendour and a quirky but charming beauty apothecary was born.

This lush and lovely lip balm is sweetly scented with a rich cherry fragrance and a hint of red cherry colour. Gives lips a surge of protective moisture for soft and scented cherry lips. I have been using it for so long now I cannot imagine life without it - it leaves my lips healthy and sweet.

There's only little left in my tin, so hints to boyfriend were already made. I expect to find new tin underneath this year's Christmas Tree!

I finally feel so much better that I can have some strangth to do a proper make up, not only basic daily stuff!

I've picked it up mint Sleek Eyeliner as an impulse buy some time ago. I must say that I was a little bit worried about application, because eye liners are my Achilles' heel. However, the application is extremely easy - one of the easiest I've tried. The colour is also great and the only flaw I can find is that after some time it dries so much that crackles appear and the look is not so fresh.

I'm planning tomorrow's day out, still debating going to cinema for We Need To Talk About Kevin or Contagion. Boyfriend has his birthday on Monday, so this weekend is a whirlwind two days (and my parcel from Amazon didn't arrive yet!).

17 is a Boots cosmetics brand aimed at teenagers which was introduced in 1968. Sam Bryant, Jonathan Saunders, Eley Kishimoto, Antoni and Alison and Daisy de Villeneuve are among the makeup artists and designers who have produced designer capsule collections for the brand.

This nude palette was available this summer as an extra when you've purchased two items from 17 collection. It is the best nude palette I have found and I am so glad I even got it for free. I am a huge, huge fan of nude make up, usually going only for the statement lips. Sadly, I don't have much eye shadow skills (one of my regrets) and these don't require much abilities. I can apply the soft eye shadows, a hint of shimmering cream blusher and subtle sheer lipstick for the fresh nude look.

I've been writing this post for ages and I know that it's way past this deal in Boots, so tomorrow you'll see my review on a current promotion. The requirements are the same buy two or more 17 products.

My favourite nail polish company Barry M released recently new version of Instant Nail Effects - gold and silver metallic. The idea behind it is that it is supposed to look after application like a popular nail-foil. Sadly, the effect is not the same. I figure it would be difficult to actually for a nail polish to look like a foil, but I still like it.

So sorry for the lack of posts! I am down with a flu, I didn't go to work today and I'm not going tomorrow. I've been planning to catch up with the blogging, but the fever and headache are very good in preventing me to do so. I went to visit an ill friend on Thursday, run around on Friday and on Saturday I went to Katy Perry concert which was amazing, but I lost my voice when singing E.T. and T.G.I.F.! So this outfit is from Saturday morning, right before we went out. I don't want to post my concert outfit, because I wasn't in the mood for taking the pictures at that time.

The Primark shirt was on the promotion rail and I picked it up for £5! I think it looks really nice with the colour of these jeans.

I saw few bloggers wearing this Primark feather hat and decided to check it out in store. Because I'm still unsure and self-conscious about wearing hats, I didn't want to invest in anything expensive, so the £6 tag was very appealing to me! Because I am small, it's hard for me to find something that suits me and I don't look like a little mushroom from Mario Bros. games. Hopefully, this doesn't happen this time!

I love the colour of these jeans. I usually go for black or navy, but as my little project of widening my fashion style horizons, I've bought these. I think they're perfect for autumn!

I can't wait for Friday too, because it's my day off and I plan to spend it with Me, Myself and I. Do you like spending time with yourself? I really like it! I don't have to answer to anybody, can go where I want and do what I want. I'm already planning a visit to a museum and relaxing in Costa with latte and some magazines.

It is so easy to do, only takes lots of time to wait for each layer to dry.

I decided to go for the minted background, reminds me of bamboo that pandas eat.

I am over the moon and can't get how cute this hat is!

Jewellery: hourglass

I have been always fascinated by the hourglasses.

Just the thought of a sand enclosed in a glass, which can measure time is so spellbinding.

Factors affecting the time measured include the amount of sand, the bulb size, the neck width, and the sand quality. Alternatives to sand are powdered eggshell and powdered marble. The oldest known surviving hourglass resides in the British Museum in London and I can't wait to check it out!

The first necklace is the replica of the Hermione's Time-Turner - 24 karat gold plated necklace.

I've been obsessing about it for a couple of weeks and ~~sent my boyfriend a link~~ gave my boyfriend little hints about it and was over the moon when I finally got it! Whilst it is not guaranteed that this Time-Turner will send me back in time, it is guaranteed that Hermione's Time-Turner is an authentic replica of the magical device used in the film Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Time-Turner comes complete with display case, or can be worn as a piece of jewellery on the 18 inch chain. The piece itself is centered with a working miniature hourglass and rotating inner rings.

The second necklace I've recently bought is my first and so far only purchase from the Forever 21 store in London. I went there shortly after opening, but I was a little disappointed with the stock. In my head is the sentance I've read on one of the blogs with the girl saying that it seems that this shop is a mixture between H&M and River Island for teens. But I liked this necklace - simple yet makes a statement.

And so the last blast of summer heatwave has ended and we're back with the autumn weather. I guess a lot of people will actually enjoy it, after buying A/W pieces and needed to hold these off for the past weekend. I am not complaining about the hot weather, I am just a little bit scared now that I'll get a cold. So far, I don't know how, I've managed to get away with my September-cold curse (I get a cold every September. Two years ago when I happily called my mum and told her that I didn't get cold it was presumptuous of me - I got one the very next day on the last day of the month!).

On the outfit note, I've been trying to snap good pair of purple boots for few years and last year I've spotted these on sale in Primark. I was over the moon! They're comfy, stylish and don't have a very high heel -perfect for a walk around the city.

I know that I may be the very last blogger to post my nail ombré trend, but I just couldn't resist - it looks so cool! I've been dying to create this look for ages, but there was always something that distracted me (aka new nail polishes). I've finally gotten into it and I am loving this effect! I didn't get a chance to wear this dress during the summer, but apparently you can never say never when it's the British weather you are talking about.
It is definitely strange when you're relaxing on the blanket and the wind blows yellow leaves on your face.

Highly recommended: any dish with tempura from Japan Centre.

Versace for H&M sneak preview

Ever since the H&M and Versace collaboration was announced (to be released on 19 November), I was impatiently waiting to see the designs. We could see a couple of glimpses in a video provided by Donatella Versace, but now, thanks to Vogue, we can really see what it's going to look like.

The newest issue of the U.S. Vogue reveals an Eighties aesthetic that pays tribute to late founder Gianni Versace's golden age. Donatella said that the H&M line was "the essence of Versace" and that she "can't wait to see how H&M's wide audience will make these pieces their own".

The minidress ($149) and leggings ($30) worn by model Shu Pei indicates a very sexy collection of pieces in floral in black and a neon rainbow prints.

Abbey Lee Kershaw wears another sneak preview designs. What I love about this, is that it seems that the collection involves the accessories - gold rope and bold circular medallion details which are the quintessence of the Versace's style.

Do you remember the dress Donatella wore when she took her bow after the Versace show in Milan last Friday? Apparently, this studded leather shift dress will be also available in neon pink! Can you imagine actually wearing something what hangs in Donatella's closet?

I guess you can totally classify them as obsessions, because I even dream about these!

I've fallen in love with this River Island fox hat.

There are no words to describe how cute this coat from Asos is.

And now the important question:

is it too cheeky to already ask for a very-pre-early Christmas present?
