Too Faced Bonjour Soleil Palette review

Too Faced Bonjour Soleil Palette review, Too Faced, bronzer, make up, beauty, review,

You may know that I am completely obsessed with Too Faced make up, especially since I got Chocolate Bar palette in the summer. When I saw that Too Faced Bonjour Soleil Palette is going to be on Cohorted website, I decided to take a plunge and made my first ever Cohorted purchase. I've recently learned about the site - it's basically a 'social-media shopping experience' which means that the more people buy the product, the bigger discount there is. You can find products from some amazing make up brands there like Chanel, Benefit, Bobbi Brown and Urban Decay - all reduced like my palette was - from £40 to £27. Sadly, Hermes delivery service as always proved to be the most awful experience and I had to wait two months (!!!) for the palette to arrive. I must admit that Cohorted was very professional about it.

Too Faced Bonjour Soleil Palette review, Too Faced, bronzer, make up, beauty, review,

Too Faced Bonjour Soleil Palette is a palette of three best-selling bronzers encased in the gorgeous and sturdy metal packaging and includes Cruelty-Free Teddy Bear Hair Bonjour Bronzer Flatbuki and a built-in mirror.

Too Faced Bonjour Soleil Palette review, Too Faced, bronzer, make up, beauty, review,
Chocolate Soleil: infused with antioxidant-rich cocoa powder and signature bronzing pigments to create a unique matte bronzer that neutralizes red and evens skin tone.
Sun Bunny: the slight pink undertone mimics the flush of a real tan.
Snow Bunny: four gorgeous shades combine for the perfect illuminating glow.

My favourites are Chocolate Soleil and Snow Bunny - they are perfect for contouring and adding a little glow to my face. As always, quality is excellent and I am so happy I got this palette! Just like Chocolate Bar, when you open the packaging you are hit with sweet scent of chocolate, which is an added bonus. I also love the flatbuki brush, so soft and excellent quality. Safe to say, I am Too Faced obsessed!

NARS Velvet Eyeshadow Stick in Dark Angel review

NARS Velvet Eyeshadow Stick in Dark Angel review, beauty, eye shadows, NARS, review, make up, swatches,

For January and exclusive to Selfridges, NARS introduced a limited-edition collection that delivers captivating range and dimension for eyes. There are two eyeshadow palettes available, new Multiple shade and five eyeshadow sticks (in black, blue, purple, grey and brown). NARS Velvet Eyeshadow Stick in Dark Angel* has a gorgeous deep brown shade and a truly wonderful velvety matte formula which applies easily and smoothly. I honestly never experienced eyeshadow stick that smooth - it feels wonderful on the skin and glides effortlessly on the eyelid. The staying power is immense - for this swatch alone it took me a lot of rubbing in the shower to take it off completely and there was still residue afterwards. As for eye makeup, I left it to Bioderma Micellar Solution to soak it all up and then followed up with Elemis Sensitive Cleansing Wash to take it off completely. It's a wonderful shade alone for an everyday makeup, but I use it as a base and follow up with some glitter on top.

I am currently going through a phase of wearing very classic and natural nail polish shades. Essie Ballet Slippers is one of them - perfect for every occasion, eternally chic and feminine, it is one of my favourite Essie shades. You can decide for yourself how opaque you want it to be, I personally like how milky and creamy it is after few layers. In this case I applied four thin layers and sealed them with Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

Are you a fan of classic nail polish shades?

KIKO Generation Next collection

KIKO Generation Next collection, beauty, KIKO, review, 2015, Generation Next Face Brush, CC Cream Cushion, Masterpiece Bronzer, Mosaic Blush, Crystal Fusion Super Moisture Face Serum, KIKO Glassy Lipgloss, KIKO Frosted Look Lipstick, KIKO Crystal Eyeliner, KIKO Cool Touch Eyeshadow in Experimental Green, KIKO Mosaic Highlighter in Future Light

KIKO Generation Next is a spring collection* full of shiny packaging and lots of colour with the main theme being celebrating the future. There are few innovation formulas and textures and gorgeous packaging is inspired by the famous Italian Murano glassware, capturing the multicolours used throughout his work. I was lucky to receive few items, so here are mini-reviews:

KIKO Generation Next collection, beauty, KIKO, review, 2015, Generation Next Face Brush, CC Cream Cushion, Masterpiece Bronzer, Mosaic Blush, Crystal Fusion Super Moisture Face Serum, KIKO Glassy Lipgloss, KIKO Frosted Look Lipstick, KIKO Crystal Eyeliner, KIKO Cool Touch Eyeshadow in Experimental Green, KIKO Mosaic Highlighter in Future Light

KIKO Mosaic Highlighter in Future Light is a truly beautiful highlighter inside and out. It has a mixture of matte and shimmery shades which help to create a perfect glow. It is also enriched with multi-reflective pearls and very soft, which means it blends easily into the skin. I really like the sturdy packaging and the big mirror and the only negative I can find is that in this case (as well as eyeshadow) it is rather hard to open with a clasp tightly guarding the inside, so it can be a bit of a struggle before you ease your way in. (RRP £14.90)

KIKO Generation Next collection, beauty, KIKO, review, 2015, Generation Next Face Brush, CC Cream Cushion, Masterpiece Bronzer, Mosaic Blush, Crystal Fusion Super Moisture Face Serum, KIKO Glassy Lipgloss, KIKO Frosted Look Lipstick, KIKO Crystal Eyeliner, KIKO Cool Touch Eyeshadow in Experimental Green, KIKO Mosaic Highlighter in Future Light

KIKO Cool Touch Eyeshadow in Experimental Green is one shade of eight creamy intense eyeshadows that once applied give a long-lasting mettalic and glossy finish. I've been using this shade as an eyeliner, because I don't think my blue eyes would favour green on my eye lids. It is packaged in the innovative pot to maintain the freshness of the texture. (RRP £8.90)

KIKO Crystal Eyeliner is a pencil eyeliner with a very smooth feel and vivid colour. It feels like a liquid liner with the immediate colour release of a pencil. I can confirm that it lasted throughout the day without smudging. There are six shades available, the ones here are dark silver (01) and metallic green (04). (RRP 6.90)

KIKO Frosted Look Lipstick is a creamy chubby pencil lipstick which gives you easy and quick application on-the-go. Don't let its name fool you - it doesn't give you dreaded 80s 'Dynasty' frosted lipstick look, but rather delicate shimmer and satin finish. There are six shades available and this vivid red is 04. (RRP £7.50)

KIKO Glassy Lipgloss is a lipgloss with a glossy finish and good pigmentation. It's described as a hybrid of a lipstick and lipgloss and has a water-based formula to coat the lips whilst moisturizing. It has a very subtle scent of vanilla, which is almost non-detectable (only when you sniff the wand), so it's perfect for people who are not fans of heavily scented makeup. It's also available in six shades and this one is 03. (RRP 7.90)

All in all I think it's another fantastic collection from KIKO. I've really learnt to love this brand and especially if you're looking to inject colour into your everyday makeup, this is the brand to go for. Their long-lasting formulas and visually-appealing packaging make it a winner in my books. Other products in the collection include Generation Next Face Brush (powder brush and cruelty-free), CC Cream Cushion, Masterpiece Bronzer, Mosaic Blush and Crystal Fusion Super Moisture Face Serum (phew!). Generation Next collection launches in March.

VLOG - Figleaves + I Love... Press Days & Julie!

I've been trying to get back my blogging mojo lately and I am thinking about few new series I may start to jazz things up on Mademoiselle Lala. In the meantime, I've filmed my first Vlog of 2015 - it's been such a long time since I uploaded something on YouTube I actually missed it a little bit. It's still time-consuming and people look at you weirdly on the street, but vlogging actually makes me happy and it's a lot of fun so I'll try to squeeze it in as much as I can.

On Wednesday I met up with Julie for a little catch up and gossip and we went to two events. Figleaves was presenting their upcoming lingerie and swimwear collection and it's full of wonderful prints, lace and colours. The attenetion to detail is incredible and the prices are very affordable too. There were romantic and girly sets in peach and pastels as well as something more vampy like collection inspired with Fifty Shades of Grey and designed by queen of burlesque Dita Von Teese. The swimwear is a mixture of retro styles and classics with some bold prints, florals and once again - details - from studs (designed to stay firmly put and not get too hot on the sun) to metalic inserts, everything screams summer.

Victoria's Secret Snow Mint fragrance mist, Victoria's Secret, perfume, review, beauty,

I got this bottle of Victoria's Secret Snow Mint fragrance mist during Boxing Day sale and I have been wearing it daily every since. I honestly think I've found my signature scent! It is simply amazing, I can't get enough of it and the only thing that makes me weep is that it's limited-edition scent!!! Victoria's Secret - please, oh so please release it next year, I need it in my life! This fragrance is a perfect blend of iced peppermint and ganache - very unusual! Sweet, but not overly sweet and it's infused with aloe vera and chamomile. I love it so much, it has amazing lasting power and my only regrets are that I didn't get another bottle and matching lotion, because they were sold out.

Brand new Smashbox Double Exposure Palette* is hitting the stores on 7th January (RRP £37), so get ready to get it! It's an amazing palette containing 14 shades that transform into 28 with adding just some water. Each shadow changes in one of four ways when wet - the shade amps up vibrancy, gets deeper, turns metallic or adds sparkle - so the possibilities are endless. I think it's a genius way of updating a palette and a certainly its main selling point - it's like having two palettes in one! A special double-ended brush is included for foolproof application with domed side to absorb just the right amount of water for maximum colour and angled side to create a precise line when wet or diffused line when dry.

I'd definitely recommend a gentle water mist to use for wetting the brush, not a full-on splash of water. I've used The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist (since I saw makeup artists use similar technique at the backstage of London Fashion Week), but I also want to let you know that Smashbox is releasing Photo Finish Primer Water (RRP £20) on 18th February which will have three main uses: prime to create sheerest canvas for makeup application, setting the makeup and refreshing throughout the day to wake up the skin. It can also act as a gentle mist to damp the brush and achieve desired result.

What do you think of this latest addition to Smashbox family?

2014 Beauty Favourites

2014 Beauty Favourites

This post was (as always) hard to compile, there are so many beauty products which I've discovered and loved in 2014, so I tried to include only my absolute favourites.

EYES
Urban Decay Naked 3 (review) - I love this palette! I got it for Christmas last year and it was my go-to palette, I simply love the selection of the shades it as always, quality is excellent.
MUA Elysium Palette (review) - this was my budget eyeshadow palette. These shades are really nice, blend easily and are a perfect daily makeup choice.
Simple Kind To Eyes Revitalising Eye Roll-On (review) - contains a refreshing eye gel formulated with cucumber extract and vitamin goodness to wake up and reduce puffiness and revitalise tired eyes. I love the roller ball applicator which instantly cools and gently massages my eye area.
Bourjois Twist up the Volume mascara (review) - this is without a doubt my Holy Grail mascara, I simply adore the effect it gives me! I always use it on 'twisted' setting and it gives me perfectly fluttery lashes, does not weight them down, there are no smudges, so no panda eyes for me.
MUA Pro-Base Eye Primer - this is my favourite eye primer which makes my eyeshadow long lasting, smooths out the eyelids and prevent creasing.

LIPS
EOS Sweet Mint Lip Balm (review) - 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. This lip balm keeps my lips moist, soft and smooth, is super easy to use and I love both flavour and scent it has.
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet (review) - I raved about these amazing liquid lipsticks from Bourjois many times. They give a punch of colour, are super long-lasting and don't dry out my lips. I love them!

FACE
The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil (review) - this silky-soft cleanser effortlessly removes makeup from the whole face quickly and effectively, leaving skin feeling clean, refreshed and clear of impurities. It’s the ultimate time-saver, gentle, has a lovely scent and I love using it to remove my makeup at night. (Not on the photo, because I run out of it and I am currently using The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter).
No7 Stay Perfect Foundation (review) - I love this foundation! It gives me a natural flawless complexion, has amazing staying power and feels fresh entire day. It doesn't dry out my skin too, which is a massive bonus and covers all of my imperfections.
Indeed Labs hydraluron moisture jelly (review) - paired with hydraluron, it gives an excellent boost of moisture to my dehydrated skin. I really like the dispenser too!
E.L.F. All Over Color Stick in Lilac Petal (review) - I discovered it in the second-half of 2014 and I couldn't be parted from it ever since. I use it on my cheekbones to add a little colour and a lot of glow and illumination, I believe it's a little dupe for NARS The Multiple.

NAILS
Essie dj play that song (review) - I think this was my most loved nail polish shade this year, it has a neon plum hue and is utterly gorgeous every time of the year.
Bourjois Instant Dry Nail Drops (review) - these are perfect for manicures on the go, they also help to dry the nail polish faster. However, the reason I like it most is that it perfectly nourishes the cuticles.
Soap & Glory Hand Dream Super Intensive Hand Cream (review) - this is my Holy Grail hand cream this year. I obviously love its scent, but how it works too - is very nourishing and soaks in easily.

HAIR
Klorane Clarify and Shine Rinse with Chamomile - this is my second bottle of this rinse which helps me to smooth my hair, enlighten it and give it a radiant shine. I've just learnt though that there is a similar hair mask available and I'm planning to buy it next, because rinse is quite time-consuming product to use.
Dove Refresh+Care Dry Shampoo (review) - this is my favourite dry shampoo... ever! It beats all the others, including Batiste. Smells very dresh, absorbs the oil and gives me volume. It's also transparent, so I don't have to be afraid of that dreaded 'badger look'.

BODY
The Body Shop Mango Body Whip (review) - this lightweight whipped body lotion smells like fresh mangoes. It hydrates skin, leaving it soft and smooth and I love that it has a pump bottle.
Dr. Bronner Liquid Soap (review) - I went through a couple of bottles of this soap this year. I apply foundation using my hands and this soap literally dissolves it afterwards. It's also great to wash my makeup brushes and to use in the shower.
Calvin Klein Reveal (review) - I was lucky to get this perfume shortly after it went on the shelves and I really like its scent, I was using it almost every day since and I am glad I have another bottle waiting for me.

Phew! That's certainly a lot of products. Do you see your favourites here?

Burt's Bees Beeswax & Banana Hand Cream review

Burt's Bees Beeswax & Banana Hand Cream review

I came across Burt's Bees Beeswax & Banana Hand Cream at their Covent Garden pop-up store and I absolutely loved the scent it had. I was lucky enough to get it underneath my Christmas Tree and I am so thankful! It is the richest hand cream I had a pleasure to use and smells just like fresh bananas - very unusal for a hand cream. Sadly, the only issue I have with it is that smell quickly disappears and gets kind of unpleasant after a while, I don't know why... But it is amazing to use as a hand mask/treatment, especially before going to sleep. It soaks into my hands and really nourishes cuticles, so it's perfect for those winter days and nights.

I seriously thought I am going to hyperventilate when I saw the news that Hourglass is going to release their Ambient Lighting Blush Palette! I wanted to get Ambient Lighting Blush for ages but couldn't decide on the shade and at £28 per blush they don't come cheap. After much of pondering (this amazing post by Stacey who owns all the shades helped me to decide) I've finally settled to get Luminous Flush, but then the news hit and I decided to wait a little bit longer. And I am so glad that I did!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette review + swatches, beauty, blusher, hourglass, make up, palette, review, swatches, Luminous Flush, Incandescent Electra, Mood Exposure, blush palette, hourglass cosmetics,

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette features two of the best-selling shades: Luminous Flush and Mood Exposure, as well as a new shade - Incandescent Electra, which is exclusive to this palette. Of course the shades are smaller than the original versions, but I don't have a problem with it - I haven't finished any of a blusher in my collection yet, so I don't expect to run out of these ones any time soon. The palette is currently limited edition, but I expect for it to be made permanent one, just as it was in case of Ambient Lighting Palette (also on my radar!). The quality of the blushers is absolutely amazing. They are the most gorgeous shades and create a very soft, seamless effect. Also, even though they are not shimmery, they still give me a dose of a healthy glow - perfection!

Luminous Flush is a champagne rose blush fused with Luminous Light to evoke a candlelit glimmer.
Incandescent Electra is a cool peach blush blended with Incandescent Light for a celestial glow and also exclusive to the palette.
Mood Exposure is a soft plum blush fused with Mood Light to brighten the complexion.

New Year, New Beginnings

I haven't really sat down with my notepad to write down my New Year resolutions. I vaguely know what I'd like to achieve and probably in a week or so I will sit down properly and try to make a list of things 'To Do' for 2015, but for now, I know that I am hoping for few big changes this year and will try my best to make my dreams a reality.

As for blogging, I did my best with trying to post daily last year and although I may not have exact 365 posts published, I am still very proud of myself, for powering through when I had no motivation and for sticking to it whenever I felt it didn't go anywhere. Thank you so much to all of my readers, supporters and people who comment - it honestly means a world to me! My 2015 Blogolutions will differ slightly, I just want to adjust them to me - I put a huge amount of pressure on myself and sometimes it is simply to heavy to carry. Another thing is that I am trying to save up some pennies, so I don't want to spend them on all latest beauty products and must-have makeup. I still love to treat myself, but I'd like to avoid impulse buys and giving in to the hype. To be honest I am a little worried, that my blog may suffer because of that, but I have a long-term goal ahead of me and I'd do my best to stick to it.

My Blogolutions:

- remember blogging is my hobby, not a job,
- trying to post daily, but not beat myself up when it will not happen,
- make two YouTube videos per month,
- post more outfit posts,
- start few new regular series to shake up my blog a little,
- more interaction with fellow bloggers.

Do you have New Year resolutions? What are they?
