La Montaña First Light candle

La Montaña First Light candle, candles, review,

I absolutely love a good candle, there's nothing better than to lit it up in the evening and relax with the current favourite book, TV show or to play some card games. I love discovering new candles and fragrances too and although I like mainstream brands like Yankee Candle and Jo Malone, I love to support less-known and family businesses.

La Montaña was founded by Cassandra and Jonathan who decided to move from London to peaceful Spanish mountain village. And through their candles they aim to fill your home with warm fragrances of the Mediterranean. Their first candle First Light* was inspired by those peaceful mornings when everything is waking up and the clean mountain air is sweet aromas of herbs and breeze. It is full of wild mountain herbs like fennel, bergamot, rosemary, mountain pepper, and rockrose. Doesn't it sound wonderful? It is a completely unique blend and I simply love it!

All La Montaña candles are burning for at least 40 hours, include a high percentage of natural and essential oils and are hand-poured by artisan candlemakers. I also love their aesthetic appearance with unique label in the style of a nostalgic 1930’s travel poster. If you are unsure about any of the scents you can request some samples which are packed in an air-tight bag, so I can assure you that they really do smell and you can pick your ideal one!

La Montaña First Light candle, candles, review,

You can get La Montaña candles at www.lamontana.co.uk and there are currently four in the range: First Light, Galán de Noche (jasmine, wild rose, orange blossom, and ylang yang), Winter Oranges (Valencia orange, cinnamon, red apple, and clove) and newest addition to the range Alfredo’s Café (coffee, brandy, and black tobacco, laced with leather and incense) which I think is next on my list. I think for the price (RRP £35) it's great to support some independent business and leave your home smelling like Spanish holidays.

    1. I also think it's an amazing idea, so useful and you won't be unpleasantly surprised. The candles have such strong scents you won't be able to mask them easily, so samples are an excellent idea!

  4. These look and sound lovely. I also like to give the independant candle businesses a try out too although it has to be said Ive never found one yet that burns as efficiently as a yankee and doesnt leave lots of wastage down the sides... despite always leaving them to burn for hours.

Definitely going to look them up.. will save so I don't forget. Thanks

  5. First of all... Thanks so much Mademoiselle for your lovely review. Lala Rocks!
Thought I'd just share a couple of tips with Lyn (above). The first one is to make sure that your candle is at room temperature when you first light it. If the wax is cold, the flame tends to tunnel down the middle of the candle. And second, the first time you light it, burn it for long enough for the whole of the surface to turn liquid (an hour?). That, and regularly trimming the wick to half a centimetre, should give you the best chance of an even burn.

  10. Dak Prescott had a chance to win his first NFL start as Dallas, down 20-19, took over at their own 20-yard line with 1:04 left on the clock. The drive fell short eight plays later as wideout Terrance Williams caught a pass in Giants territory but failed to get out bounds in time. The failed one-minute drill doesn't entirely take away from a promising debut for Prescott, who opened the game with scoring drives of 15, 15, 11 and seven plays before the cheap sale jerseys offense was forced to punt. The first half for Dallas served as confirmation that this year's Cowboys are very wholesale jerseys shop much in new nike nfl jerseys play to duplicate their 2014 selves with Prescott at the helm. Hitting 25 of 45 passes for 227 yards, the rookie -- picked NFL Jerseys 134 spots behind Jared Goff -- helped Dallas control the NFL Jerseys ball for 22-plus minutes of the first half. Prescott found eight separate targets and looked comfortable directing the offense. He'd jerseys store like a handful of those throws back, but the former Mississippi State star did a commendable job going through his progressions, finding holes in the defense and putting the ball where his targets had a chance to make plays. This loss falls more on a wanting Dallas defense that couldn't get the Giants off the field in the second half.
