Benefit Roller Lash mascara

Beauty world is currently buzzing with the lastest release from Benefit - Roller Lash mascara. Since They're Real! mascara became a cult product not so long ago, it was only a matter of time before Benefit will release another one, also claiming to be the ultimate necessity for your lashes. I have a little bit of love-hate relationship with Benefit (I love some of their products and the packagings, but hate how overpriced and over-hyped products are), but since the sample was coming free with current issue of ELLE magazine and it's a global pre-release, of course I wanted to try it for myself.

Benefit Roller Lash mascara was designed to super-curl and lift your lashes with a Hook'n'Roll brush (patent pending) which was designed to catch, lift and curl. Well, these are obviously my first impressions since I have it only for two days, but as you can see from swatches, it does sound promising.

Consumer panel on 31 women after 4 weeks said:
- 97% said it visibly lifts lashes - I can confirm it, Roller Lash really lifts them up;
- 87% said it gives long-lasting curl - it gave me a curl, but I have rather curly lashes, so I guess people with straight lashes will appreciate this more than I do;
- 94% said eyes look more wide open - with lifting and curling the lashes it's only natural that your eyes will look more 'open' and I could really see that in action.

To sum up, I wouldn't call it my favourite mascara (I always go for volume rather than length), but it's really good and perfect for those days when you feel tired and want to 'open' your eyes. I also think it's excellent for people who like to use eyelash curlers - using this mascara means that you won't be endangering your lashes to pulling and tugging. But I think that it is overhyped (as most Benefit products are) and I will definitely not fork out almost £20 for a full tube. It certainly doesn't beat my Holy Grail mascara aka Bourjois Twist up the Volume.

  1. I have been loving this mascara since I got the sample! I always prefer voluminous mascaras too but I have strangely been loving this one. It really opens up my eyes x

    1. It is a little bit clumpy, especially when I tried to use it on my bottom lashes, but I think in weeks time it'll dry up a little and will be better, I hate runny mascaras. ;)
