KIKO Generation Next is a spring collection* full of shiny packaging and lots of colour with the main theme being celebrating the future. There are few innovation formulas and textures and gorgeous packaging is inspired by the famous Italian Murano glassware, capturing the multicolours used throughout his work. I was lucky to receive few items, so here are mini-reviews:
KIKO Mosaic Highlighter in Future Light is a truly beautiful highlighter inside and out. It has a mixture of matte and shimmery shades which help to create a perfect glow. It is also enriched with multi-reflective pearls and very soft, which means it blends easily into the skin. I really like the sturdy packaging and the big mirror and the only negative I can find is that in this case (as well as eyeshadow) it is rather hard to open with a clasp tightly guarding the inside, so it can be a bit of a struggle before you ease your way in. (RRP £14.90)
KIKO Cool Touch Eyeshadow in Experimental Green is one shade of eight creamy intense eyeshadows that once applied give a long-lasting mettalic and glossy finish. I've been using this shade as an eyeliner, because I don't think my blue eyes would favour green on my eye lids. It is packaged in the innovative pot to maintain the freshness of the texture. (RRP £8.90)
KIKO Crystal Eyeliner is a pencil eyeliner with a very smooth feel and vivid colour. It feels like a liquid liner with the immediate colour release of a pencil. I can confirm that it lasted throughout the day without smudging. There are six shades available, the ones here are dark silver (01) and metallic green (04). (RRP 6.90)
KIKO Frosted Look Lipstick is a creamy chubby pencil lipstick which gives you easy and quick application on-the-go. Don't let its name fool you - it doesn't give you dreaded 80s 'Dynasty' frosted lipstick look, but rather delicate shimmer and satin finish. There are six shades available and this vivid red is 04. (RRP £7.50)
KIKO Glassy Lipgloss is a lipgloss with a glossy finish and good pigmentation. It's described as a hybrid of a lipstick and lipgloss and has a water-based formula to coat the lips whilst moisturizing. It has a very subtle scent of vanilla, which is almost non-detectable (only when you sniff the wand), so it's perfect for people who are not fans of heavily scented makeup. It's also available in six shades and this one is 03. (RRP 7.90)
All in all I think it's another fantastic collection from KIKO. I've really learnt to love this brand and especially if you're looking to inject colour into your everyday makeup, this is the brand to go for. Their long-lasting formulas and visually-appealing packaging make it a winner in my books. Other products in the collection include Generation Next Face Brush (powder brush and cruelty-free), CC Cream Cushion, Masterpiece Bronzer, Mosaic Blush and Crystal Fusion Super Moisture Face Serum (phew!). Generation Next collection launches in March.
