Moving on...

It's pretty obvious that I haven't blogged for many weeks and months now. I guess this is something you call a burn-out. After pushing myself to blog for over five years, I was just so uninspired, felt that my content was the same all the time and I simply didn't feel like blogging. Also, I was pretty busy organising a move to Poland - that's right, after a decade of living in London I am moving back to my home country with my husband and it's pretty scary and exciting at the same time. I lived all of my adult life in the UK, so to think about starting something esentially from scratch somewhere else is pretty daunting, but I know I will have a support of my friends and family all the way. With the move kept under wraps for few months and in the midst of packing, organising and simply enjoying life, blogging was pushed back. Do I miss it? Maybe a little, I still read my blog list though and keep in touch with the blogging world. As for the future... my plans are a big relaunch of Mademoiselle Lala, including revamp of the site, some new content including lifestyle, food and travels. That's something I'd love to do - although I'm not sure when. I am flying home this Sunday, then I have to settle in and just enjoy and explore new city and life. But I am not saying complete goodbye to London - I will visit after all! - and I am optimistic for the future - I hope you will stay for the ride! Thank you to all of my readers and I hope to see you soon! X

Dove, dresses, heel, shoes, Topshop, WHAT I WORE TODAY, WIWT,

At the beginning of the week I first wrote about Dove Invisible Dry ‘little colourful dress’ challenge which promotes choosing more colourful outfits to get your more cheerful, confident and happy whilst still being protected from any sweat patches or white marks - you can read about it here.

This time I am sharing with you another colourful dress from Topshop paired with the cutest Carrie Bradshaw-inspired heels from Office - I just can't get over how cute they are! This dress option is a little bit safer for those who do not like to play with colour and prefer to stay on the safer, muted side, but still inject a little bit of cheerful hues into their attire. The mixture of orange and blue stripes works so well together and I love the cut of this dress too! I feel amazing in it and it's simply makes me happy and energised. Dove Invisible Dry deodorant also keeps me safe from white marksand sweat patches.

As promised, I have few more tips from Dove experts:
"Confidence is the key with colour, step out of your comfort zone when out shopping and try on as many different colours as you can. Think of it as a fun mission and take into the changing room as many bright items as you can find on the shop floor. Tell yourself you are only trying them on, that will take away expectation of trying to find that perfect ‘something’ and also help you to feel in control with your shopping.  You will know instinctively which hues work on you and which don’t. You will notice when wearing colour how it instantly evens out skin tone, enhances your features and lifts your mood.
- Alex Longmore, fashion stylist

"Yellow is a bright and vibrant colour which can make you feel happy and cheerful. A yellow notebook/journal helps with focusing on a goal, retaining information or decision-making.

Red is a bold colour that motivates and inspires you to take action. Red is great to place on a vision board if you need energy to tackle your goals. Red can also be used if you need a confidence boost.

Orange is an energetic colour which is useful when maintaining a positive outlook on life. Orange helps with social communication so bring your orange clipboard if you need enthusiasm when presenting an idea to others."

Dove Invisible Dry ‘little colourful dress’ challenge Part 1

To celebrate Dove Invisible Dry deodorant, which leaves no white marks on over 100 colours, Dove is on a mission to get women more colour confident – specifically by embracing the ‘LCD’, or ‘little colourful dress’ code – which means you can be colourful, stylish and still look good and feel confident whatever the occasion or time of day! I personally love wearing colourful clothes – especially in the summer! I love monochrome stripes and classic black dresses and cigarette trousers to emulate Parisian chic, but whenever I’m injecting some colour injection into my everyday attire I instantly feel more cheerful and happy.

I’ve chosen this electric blue dress from Topshop for my recent date night aka dinner and the movie and it was both stylish and kept me cool in the recent heatwave. Thanks to Dove Invisible Dry deodorant I also didn’t have to worry about any white marks or dreaded sweat patches – not attractive to say the least! I personally love this shade of blue, it’s so flattering and gives me instant mood and confidence boost.

If you are a little nervous about embracing colourful hues, here are some tips from Dove experts to help you make this first step and get you out of the comfort zone:

“For those of you that are seriously nervous about dressing colourfully, then I suggest starting your colourful change slowly and first investing with an accessory such as a bright handbag, pair of shoes or a scarf. This is a great way to inject colour into your wardrobe, plus it’s fun for summer and colour always get compliments. A little colour goes a long way so it will instantly brighten your outfit and you will feel the colourful benefits without a complete wardrobe overhaul.

Colour can be more empowering to wear than dark tones. We often think of black as a ‘forgiving colour’ and that it ‘hides a multitude of sins’ but this couldn’t be further from the truth. It can make us look drained, can dull our complexion and certainly isn't feminine or good for our confidence. Colour is great for all occasions be it a special event or something eye-catching for your work wardrobe and nothing beats a little colourful dress to make a statement of confidence; overall we give a much better impression to others when we embrace colour.“
- Alex Longmore, fashion stylist

“Purple is a creative colour which is good for inspiration. Purple helps to get your creative juices flowing so the next time you are brainstorming be sure to use a purple pen.

Pink is a soothing colour which evokes calm feelings and is also great for stress relief. Pink can be used for reassurance and to rebalance emotional distress order pink flowers for the office when you have several deadlines.”

- Natalie Thomas, confidence coach

Stay tuned for another set of tips and my other colourful outfit – coming up next week!

Caudalíe Vinoperfect Radiance Serum and Radiance Tinted Moisturizer

Caudalíe Vinoperfect Radiance Serum and Radiance Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum, beauty, Caudalíe, foundation, review, skincare,

I loved Caudalíe for years, this is a truly amazing skincare brand which always delivers (and doesn't test on animals which is a huge bonus!). Their newest addition to the Vinoperfect range and much acclaimed Vinoperfect Radiance Serum* is Radiance Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum*.

Caudalíe Vinoperfect Radiance Serum and Radiance Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum, beauty, Caudalíe, foundation, review, skincare,

This Vinoperfect Radiance Serum is Caudalíe's N°1 anti-dark spot product and has been a cult product for skincare aficionados for many years. This serum has a lightweight milky texture and does a great job at correcting and preventing dark spots, evening out the skin tone and boosting radiance. The high concentration of natural ingredients makes it perfect to counter sunspots, acne marks, scars, and damage, for a brighter, more beautiful complexion. I have only few acne scars, but when using it for a month or so I definitely saw them being reduced and my skin looking more radiant and healthy. Also, because it is so light, it's perfect for summer and this time of the year although it takes 5-10 minutes to sink in properly.

Caudalíe Vinoperfect Radiance Serum and Radiance Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum, beauty, Caudalíe, foundation, review, skincare,

Caudalíe Radiance Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum is an oil-free and hydrating tinted moisturiser which has in-built SPF20 - a massive bonus for the summer! It is described as an "all in one skincare treatment and complexion enhancer" thanks to its pigments which blend with the skin to cover imperfections, redness, blemishes and dark spots. I am a fan of a lighter makeup base in the spring and summer (who isn't?!), so this checks all of my boxes. The only downside is that it currently comes in only two shades - light and medium - so sadly won't be for everyone. I get away with the light shade and mix it with a little bit (a drop or two) of medium when I'm having my fake tan on. I really hope Caudalíe will expand on these, because they are really amazing!

What is your favourite Caudalíe product?

LUSH Comforter Shower Creme

LUSH Comforter Shower Creme, review, LUSH, Lush The Comforter, Shower creme, shower gel, LUSH shower

Without a doubt, LUSH The Comforter (review) is in my Top 3 LUSH products and No. 1 LUSH scent. This bubble bar has a sweet mixture of blackcurrant, dash of citrus bergamot oil and a sprinkle of cypress oil to calm and tone - it's simply perfection! Because we don't have bath tub in our flat, getting soaked in The Comforter was a rare and much anticipated luxury for me. Alas, no more! In the recently opened new Oxford Circus flagship store, among 214 exclusive new products is one which made my heart flutter - Comforter Shower Creme! Filled with the same gorgeous scent as its bubble bar counterpart and some added sparkle to shine it is my ultimate shower companion from now on. I simply love it and I truly hope LUSH will continue with its production forever!

Liz Earle Botanical Shine Haircare range

Liz Earle Botanical Shine Haircare range, Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo, Liz Earle Botanical Shine Conditioner for normal, dry or damaged and oily hair, Liz Earle Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil, beauty, hair, Liz Earle, review,

You might have noticed that Liz Earle haircare range went off the radar in the last year. That's because one of the powerful and natural ingredients Yangu Oil that was one of the main components of Liz Earle Botanical Shine Hair Conditioners and Hair Oil is no longer able to be sustainably sourced, so after much of exploration, testing and research Liz Earle decided upon Kalahari Melon Oil, which gives the same, if not better, high level performance in the Botanical Shine Haircare*. This just shows how much Liz Earle is committed to be a natural and ethical brand that it is!

The revamped range consists of five naturally active products including Botanical Shine Shampoo, Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil and three Botanical Shine Conditioners. The current star ingredient - Kalahari Melon Oil - comes from fair trade women's cooperatives in Namibia. The oil is rich on linoleic acid and omega-6, leaving the hair perfectly nourished, smooth and with a brilliant shine.

Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo
This shampoo is for all hair types, so if you are not really sure about it, you can split the cost with your girlfriend or boyfriend. It was dubbed 'Cleanse & Polish for hair' and has nourishing shea butter, natural source vitamin E and gentle naturally derived botanical cleansers to leave hair smooth, clean and soft. I love its botanical scent and how it deeply cleans my hair and scalp. (RRP £10)

Liz Earle Botanical Shine Conditioner for normal, dry or damaged and oily hair
This trio of hair conditioners is formulated for everyone's needs. Whether you have normal hair and want to keep it in tip-top condition hydrated and glossy; dry or damaged hair to give extra boost of nourishment and smoothness or oily, dull or lifeless hair and you want to leave it shiny, volumised and full of life - this is something you need to incorporate into your haircare routine! I am using conditioners for normal and dry hair and they're feeling wonderful on my hair and definitely eliminated some of the frizz I've struggled with! (RRP £10 each)

Liz Earle Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil
A final step in the haircare regime is this amazing blend of botanicals. It's a sublime hair treatment which feels luxurious and lightweight. I simply apply it to my damp hair and it instantly conditions, protects against heat damage and infuses hair with a luminous natural shine. I simply love it! (RRP £17.25)

My iPhone 6 case

Iconemesis Cat Sims Feathers iPhone 6 Case
Iconemesis Cat Sims Feathers iPhone 6 Case

I recently was contacted by Iconemesis to review one of their iPhone covers. They have very cute designs, including Fifi Lapin drawings, so definitely check them out! Unfortunately the case I really wanted (leopard print - duh!) was not available for iPhone 6, so after having a little cry on the side I've settled on this Cat Sims Feathers iPhone 6 Case*. I think it has a beautiful intricate drawing of feathers, very peaceful and simple, especially if you're not looking for overly flashy phone cover. However, the finish is smooth matt/rubberized plastic and can be quite slippery, so it's definitely something I had to get used to.

MAC Toledo Opera lipstick review

MAC Toledo Opera lipstick review, beauty, lipstick, MAC, make up, red, review,

MAC Opera lipstick comes from their spring 2015 Toledo Collection which is a collaboration between MAC and two fashion and illustration designers Isabel and Ruben Toledo. Everything is encased in a special white packaging, which also has a smooth matte finish which I really like (but I'm afraid it can get dirty quite quickly). Everything is white, black and red with a modern art feel to it.

I originally didn't plan to buy anything from the collection, so this lipstick was a rather consolation prize that my coveted MAC Mystery Powder from Cinderella Collection was sold out (I still managed to get it though!), but I am so happy that I did! Not only the packaging is totally unique and pretty, but I think this collection is seriously underestimated by bloggers - I barely saw any reviews and I guess the reason is that everyone focused on the Cinderella Collection.

MAC Toledo Opera lipstick review, beauty, lipstick, MAC, make up, red, review,

I am a huge fan of red lipstick (I even wore red lip to my wedding!), so after swatching the shades I instantly knew which one will be mine. Opera is described as a "dark red" and it is a medium-dark red with cool, blue undertones and a mostly matte finish - so it has all components that make a perfect red lipstick shade for me. I love love love this colour, it's simply perfect for me and the formula is excellent - no tugging, no drying the lips, it's insanely pigmented too - I dare say more that standard MAC lipsticks! The colour lasted on me full six hours - so it's safe to wear throughout the day. I may even get a back-up, because I know I'm able to finish this lipstick in no time.

Have you picked up anything from Toledo Collection?

Ciaté makeup range, Patent Pout in Air Kiss, Lip Chalk in Berry-Go-Round and Lip Lustre in Vamp, Skinny Shadow Stick in Best Dressed, swatches, review, Ciaté, Ciate

I got to try few bits from the brand new Ciaté makeup range*! Famous for their colourful nail polishes, Ciaté decided to branch out and came with a juicy collection full of wonderful shades and formulas. I have been testing their three lip products and one eyeshadow and I must say I am very impressed. Encased in very cute and cool cardboard boxes is a very nice range which has something for everyone!

Three lip products that I've tried are: Patent Pout in Air Kiss, Lip Chalk in Berry-Go-Round and Lip Lustre in Vamp and all of them deliver slightly different results.

Patent Pout is a creamy and pigmented lip lacquer in a nice light texture which doesn't make you lips too sticky. Air Kiss is a perfect and most flattering nude shade and I know I can safely wear it all day everyday.
Lip Chalk has more drying formula, but it doesn't mean that it dries out your lips. Berry-Go-Round is amazing matte berry/red/pink shade and I simply love it! That's definitely statement lipstick and something you should definitely take on your night out or when you want your lipstick to stay on for extra longer.
Lip Lustre is a high shine lip gloss and this Vamp shade is filled with the most wonderful shimmer and glitter. It's transparent, so I like to put it on top of the lipstick - actually the most flattering pairing is for me to put on aforementioned Lip Chalk in Berry-Go-Round and then follow up with Vamp!

I have also tried Skinny Shadow Stick. This product is absolutely tiny - it will easily fit into your clutch bag and even jeans's pocket! Best Dressed is a very light shade, so I mostly used it in the corner of my eye and blend with other eyeshadows that I have, but it is very decent and reflects the light beautifully. Like I said - it is very tiny - the actual amount of product you get is in the clear top that you see, the rest is a sponge dome brush which is a feature I don't particularly like - I have been struggling to get the product out using it. I'm curious about other darker shades though, so I may pick up few more to compare.

What are your first impressions of Ciaté makeup?

I spotted this Real Techniques Collectors Edition Sculpting Set in Superdrug last week and it was reduced to around £13 so I snapped it before you could say 'makeup brushes'. It's not a secret that Real Techniques are one of my favourite brushes - ever - so to get this limited edition set so cheap is definitely a bargain of the month!

Sculpting Set consists of three brushes and was designed to create contour for added depth or to simply enhance the natural bone structure. Each brush has sleek, high-shine pink shade and it will look gorgeous for any makeup aficionado's table. Sculpting Brush has a wide, angled head specially designed to help create defined contours. It's great to use with cream contours or liquid foundations, but not that great for powder products, because it is too densely packed. Fan Brush is set exclusive and softly sweeps on powders and whisks away any excess makeup for an even finish. My only wish is for it to be a little bit bigger and a little more densely packed. Setting Brush is a final step to complete any look with dusting of powder or highlighter and it is extremely versatile - you can also use it for your under eye concealer. All in all, another amazing Real Techniques set!

New additions to The Body Shop Honey Bronze range

New additions to The Body Shop Honey Bronze range, The Body Shop Honey Bronze Tinted Leg Mist, The Body Shop Honey Bronze Face Gel, The Body Shop Highlighting Domes, beauty, blusher, bronzer, highlighter, make up, review, skincare, The Body Shop,

I am a huge fan of The Body Shop Honey Bronze range - their Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder is a firm favourite among many bloggers and I love using Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil on my body and ends of my hair in the summer for an extra glow. I am happy to report that there are three new additions to the range which smell absolutely divine (just like products from Honeymania range) and deliver perfect holiday glow from head-to-toe!

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Tinted Leg Mist*
Don't let the product's name fool you - it can be used all over the body! This wonderful mist can easily and fuss-free transform your pasty white skin to a summer goddess glow. It works in an instant and gives you an even bronzed look whilst leaving your skin refreshed and smelling like a sweet honey. There's no shimmer, no oil and no transfer (you can put your clothes in two minutes straight after application) - just natural looking tan! (RRP £15)

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Face Gel*
This is an amazing transluscent lightweight face gel which gives you sunkissed matte tan after application. The effect looks very natural and of course you can build it up to your heart's desire. There was already Bronzing Gel in the range, but this is a newly reformulated formula, so you get the best results. I like using it on a night out or when I'm on holidays and going to a dinner or for some day of sightseeing when I don't want to wear complete foundation, just something light that can still cover my imperfections. (RRP £13)

The Body Shop Highlighting Domes*
These are the products I am most excited about! Those cheek highlighters coming in a standard highlighter silver/golden shimmery, pink and bronze shades are the absolute must-haves! They give just a perfect flush of warm shimmer and will guarantee you a perfect summer glow on your face. The texture is incredibly creamy and lightweight, it literally melts on your skin, so you can safely blend it in with your fingers. All of them are also infused with delicious honey fragrance! (RRP £8)

On 5th of May 2015 Topshop Beauty has celebrated its 5th birthday! It's hard to imagine now that there ever wasn't Topshop makeup range full of pretty pastel nail polishes, gorgeous lipsticks, velvety blushers and now expanding into base products like foundations and concealers. I got few odd lipsticks over the years and was really happy with the quality of them. So when celebratory rose gold edition of their most in-demand products was released, I was lured in by the pretty packaging and few things I wanted to try for a long time...

Topshop Beauty 5th Birthday! , Topshop, make up, beauty, lipstick, highlighter, review, Ohh La La lipstick (coral), Innocent lipstick (iced lilac), Nevada lipstick (nude), Glow, Glow Pot

I've picked up three new lipsticks shades: Ohh La La (coral), Innocent (iced lilac), Nevada (nude) which are perfect shades for any time of the year and their formula is velvety and nice. I also got Glow Pot which I wanted to try for years, but somehow I always kept forgetting about it in store! I am so happy with its shade and the formula is very creamy and looks gorgeous on my skin. The rose gold lid will be perfect to save on for future pots too.

Do you like Topshop makeup? What are your absolute must-haves?

My MAC Wash & Dry collection buys, beauty, highlighter, lipstick, MAC, make up, red, review, Steam Heat lipstick, High-Light Powder

I only spotted MAC Wash & Dry Collection on Twitter two days before it hit the shelves in stores - shocking! Of course by that time vast majority of the products was already sold out online, so it was only the stores where you could find the whole collection. I knew I wanted a lipstick - that's what I always buy - and of course a limited edition shade (I have Crème d'Nude and Morange anyway). I decided to go for hot red Steam Heat, because I love a good red lipstick and Tumble Dry looked washed out in the swatches online. In a spur of a moment I also got High-Light Powder featuring a unique gradation of three shades in one pan, from pastel banana through fuzzy peach to mid-coral. It has a gorgeous embossed design and the thing I only hate is that it has a pearlized overspray - am I the only one who thinks this is cheating?! Of course the reason which really drawn me in to Wash & Dry is the gorgeous ombré packaging inspired by bright, fresh hues perfect for a full spin or just a quick tumble.

Have you picked up anything from MAC Wash & Dry Collection

I knew I wanted this gorgeous Beauty Powder as soon as I saw it. Sadly, it was sold out everywhere, so having a little cry at home I pour my frustrations on Twitter. My fairy godmother in this fairytale was Carrie, who told me a little secret - that Debenhams hasn't released Cinderella Collection online yet, so I still got a chance to have it! There was still hope! Debenhams sneakily put the collection online a day earlier but my lovely prince husband was checking the site and spotted it and bought me the powder immediately.

Mystery Princess is described as a "pink beige with silver shimmer", but I think it is rather cool-toned beige with some added sparkle and sheen. The formula is smooth and it blends easily to give you a healthy glow all-over-your-face or - if you're a little bit heavy handed - highlight your features to be a belle of the ball. It is gorgeous radiance product and this beautiful lavender blue packaging with a pearly sheen is something makeup dreams are made of.

Have you managed to get Mystery Princess?

Today I popped to see what New Look will have for us during autumn and winter this year. It's really weird to walk in to a press day full of coats and warm clothes in your sandals and to leave and actually think I want autumn to hurry up - but that's how much I liked the entire collection. To sum everything up and let photos do the talking I will just say: 70s, 70s, 70s - with all the silhouettes, prints and earthy tones. Big rounded hats, flared jeans, over-the-knee boots, fringes (on clothes, shoes and bags), burgundy... Rose gold jewellery, dainty pieces and geometrical necklaces with a splash of marble. Heavy duty bags, but also box clutches and pastel pink peeking through...

Enjoy and let me know your favourite pieces!
