Barry M has recently released two new mascaras: Showgirl Extra Volumising Mascara and Showgirl Extra Lengthening Mascara. I decided to get the first one, since I am always looking for a huge volumised lashes. To be honest, I haven't planned to even buy it, but there was a recent offer when you spent over £7 on Barry M make up, so I decided to give it a go. I absolutely love the packaging - very sleek, smooth and fun. This mascara has a long, thin brush with a slight curve at the end - so it's perfect to grab all of these lashes in the corner of the eye. It makes very easy to apply the mascara too. Just like with every mascara, I waited a couple of weeks for it to dry a little to give it a proper spin (otherwise I find formula too wet) and I must admit it passed the test. I was a little hesitant, because I am not a fan of Barry M mascaras, but this one is amazing - just look how it lifted my lashes! Also, I haven't suffered from any fall out and it stayed put entire day without any smudges. I am very impressed!

I've only ever tried Burt's Bees lip balms and I absolutely love them (Mango and Pink Grapefruit flavours are my firm favourites), so I excitedly jumped at the chance to try out more products from the range. I went to Burt's Bees 'Hive' pop up store in Seven Dials not so long ago and learnt quite a bit about the products and ranges - do you know they have shampoo and conditioners - and they smell absolutely gorgeous too!

Burt's Bees Soap Bark & Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream* - took all of my make-up off without scrubbing and is very soothing and gentle to the skin. Even though it really does the job it says - deep cleaning - it doesn't strip your skin at all, so you can forget about this feeling of tightness and dryness. Smells very refreshing too and has a nice, creamy texture.

Burt's Bees Fabulously Fresh Peppermint & Rosemary Body Wash* - this is truly amazing, so refreshing with a beautiful scent that lingers on the skin. I am planning to save it up for summer though, because it gives me a 'cooling effect' and at the moment I am really not a fan of shivering after shower.

Burt's Bees Hand Salve* - one of the classic products and a great, intensive moisturiser, packed with natural ingredients that offer healing benefits for tired and hard working hands. I especially like to apply it to my cuticles and can't wait to try it out on dry patches I sometimes get on my hands during winter.

Next on my list to buy are two hand creams: Beeswax & Banana Hand Creme and Almond & Milk Hand Cream  - I've tested them out at the event and they smell absolutely amazing and good-enough-to-eat!

What is your favourite Burt's Bees product?

I am quite picky when it comes to face masks (you can read about my favourites here and here) - it has to by hydrating, not too harsh and above all - effective. I was very excited to try Masque Bar offerings - the brand comes from Korea which has a high status of skincare gimmicks. Masque Bar offers affordable at-home experience of salon-standard solutions. You can get them in Boots, RRP £9.99 for the pack of three masks. There are four types to choose from - depending on your needs and skin type:

Masque Bar Anti Wrinkle Sheet Mask* - collagen-infused facial sheet mask that contours to your face to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and hydrate your skin, leaving it feeling soft and looking refreshed.
Masque Bar Brightening Sheet Mask* - helps minimize the appearance of dark spots and various pigmentation irregularities for a more even complexion.
Masque Bar Anti-Blemish Mud Mask* - soothes irritated skin and bumps while helping control excess oil.
Masque Bar Pore Refining Crème Mask* - minimizes the appearance of pores for a more refined and even complexion.

My personal favourites are definitely Brightening Sheet Mask and Anti-Blemish Mud Mask - both are suited for my skin and leave it smooth and radiant. I was particularly surprised that the latter hadn't dry out my skin, so I didn't get that awful feeling of tight skin afterwards, the formula is really gentle.

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm in Demure is not something I would usually go for. I like these Revlon crayons, but in more outlandish shades like hot pink and orange, and with different finishes - balm stain and matte. But this sleek and shiny packaging somehow drew me in and I couldn't resist. I own few nude MAC lipstick shades which I love (Creme D'Nude, Creme Cup and Myth to name a few), but none of them gives me this lustre finish. This shade goes perfectly with a smoky eye and if very easy to wear. The shimmer is quite big, but you don't feel it on the lips. It glides in the light beautifully and I have been reaching for it on a daily basis. The only minus is that the staying power is almost non-existent and I have to keep re-applying it literally every two or three hours.

Have you tried any Revlon Lacquer Balms?

Bodhi & Birch Hydrating Toner and Bath & Shower Therapy

Bodhi & Birch Hydrating Toner and Bath & Shower Therapy, Bodhi & Birch Rosa Rosa Hydrating Toner, Bodhi & Birch Ylang-Ylang Incensa Bath & Shower Therapy, skincare, toner, beauty, review,

I have never tried Bodhi & Birch products before, but heard nothing, but praises about their performance. The brand is known for eco-luxury bath, body and skin care to awaken your mind, indulge your senses and enlighten your skincare ritual. The products incorporate the healing powers of nature and traditional botanical remedies too - you really get the best.

Bodhi & Birch Rosa Rosa Hydrating Toner* - it is very calming and infused with delicate floral waters of Damask Rose, Orange Blossom and Camomile. It's suprisingly hydrating too, just as it claims - perfect for normal/dry skin - and leaves my face refreshed and ready for moisturiser. I also use it as a facial spritz and for setting my make up. This toner is part of the Rosa Rosa Special Edition Skincare Set - all profits from the sale of this set go to Breast Cancer Care charity to help support those affected by breast cancer.

Bodhi & Birch Ylang-Ylang Incensa Bath & Shower Therapy* - it is without a doubt one of the most luxurious shower/bath products I've ever used. The scent is absolutely amazing with a sensual blend of Ylang-Ylang and Atlas Cedarwood, spiked with fragrant Honeysuckle, Neroli and Pink Peppercorn and it lingers on a skin for a long time - I love using it on the weekends as a relaxing treat.

You know this feeling when you want to get this beauty/make up/skincare product for a long time, but everyone keeps telling you it's crap and not worth buying, but you buy it anyway? Well that was the case with me and Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stains. Despite vast majority of the reviews saying that they are not worth investing into, I absolutely love the shades selection and the simplicity of the packaging and decided to get them anyway. I spent quite some time pondering which shades to choose reading reviews and comparing swatches. I've finally settled on these three: Rio Rush, India Intrigue and Parisian Passion and from the whole bunch they seemed to be most pigmented and praised in blogging community. Rio Rush is a light and bright pink shade, India Intrigue is a slightly darker pink with a tiniest hint of berry and Parisian Passion has a deep plum shade - perfect for autumn. I must admit that all claims were true and they are not as pigmented as they look, but give a really nice shine to my lips and are surprisingly moisturising.

Have you tried any of these?

Making my own face cream with Trilogy

Making my own face cream with Trilogy
Making my own face cream with Trilogy

Last week I was lucky to have an amazing experience of making my own face cream with Trilogy. Trilogy is a New Zealand skincare brand which contains only the finest natural ingredients in fresh formulations. I haven't tried anything from the brand before, but I am really intrigued by it and also how eco and animal-friendly it is.

At the event, I was given a mixture of products and actually couldn't believe it that in few minutes I had my very own pot of face cream! I started with sniffing the mixture of essential oils (that reminded me of some fat, yuck!) which included Trilogy's famous Rosehip Oil. Then using a syringe I added 13ml of warm water. Next step was mixing water and oil together and as you may know it is not easy. I used syringe and sucking the oil and water in and out over and over again, so it merged together. Of course it is all done mechanically in Trilogy factory. I didn't want my face cream to be watery, I like it to be on a thicker side, so I added 13ml of water, but going 2ml more would make it more runny. After few minutes of doing the hard work I've noticed that the two ingredients merged and I found myself with having a pot of my face cream! Then came the very last part of adding a drop of fragrance oil, it was very herbal, so I decided to get a very small drop since I am not a huge fan of herbal scents.

All I have to do now is to keep my pot in a cool and dark space (sun may separate the oils) and use it in my night-time skincare routine. I absolutely love it! It feels very fresh and makes my skin feel nourished and hydrated when I wake up in the morning. When I will finish my pot, I can always repurchase Trilogy Rosapene Night Cream since I was basing my work at the event on this hero-product.

Calvin Klein Reveal perfume review

Calvin Klein Reveal perfume review

I was lucky to get a brand new Calvin Klein Reveal* perfume and even got it inscribed with my initials! You may believe it or not, but it is actually my first CK perfume ever. I think my mum owned a bottle or two some time ago, but I was never really drawn to that scents. With this one, it is a completely different story and I am already planning to get a bottle of Reveal for my mum for Christmas. I think this fragrance is simply universal, whether you are a younger or older woman. What is very unique about this perfume is that for the first time, a raw salt is added to the fragrance, making it not only distinctive, but also sensual. It is warm and fresh and I really urge you to go and give it a sniff whenever you will get a chance.

But I think there may be a new contender - brand new Glazed Apple range! It smells so delicious, you cannot even imagine. It's definitely a gorgeous fruity scent, but sweet too, perfect indulgence for your sweet tooth! If that may not be your cup of tea (although I don't know why), you can also get Vanilla Brûlée and aforementioned Frosted Cranberry. In Glazed Apple range you can find Eau de Toilette, Body Polish, Body Butter, Sparkler, Shimmer Lotion, Shower Gel, Bath Sprinkles, Hand Cream, Bath Jelly, Lip Gloss and Lip Tin - all ideal to prepare you for the festive season from head to toe! The palettes are absolutely gorgeous and they have perfect winter shades and cute packaging reminding me of a Christmas jumper. Lip and Cheek Doll is to die for - how cute does it look?! It gives a natural-looking, rosy winter glow and is the perfect stocking filler for any girl.

Last, but not least, on 4th November a brand new The Body Shop fragrance is hitting the shelves! I was taken on amazing fragrance journey yesterday and learnt a lot about the history and all the little tidbits about making perfume. This new fragrance is called Red Musk Eau de Parfum* and takes heritage from the classic The Body Shop scent since it is white musk based. The other tones are pepper, cinnamon and tobacco - definitely not something you would think to create an amazing women's fragrance but it works! I am a huge fan of floral and sweet scents, so realisation how much I love this one completely took me by surprise.

Do you see anything you would want to find underneath your Christmas tree?

Soap & Glory Endless Glove hand cream, beauty, review, Soap and Glory, Soap & Glory Endless Glove 2-in-1 Moisture Mask & Hand Cream, blogger

I have been using Soap & Glory Endless Glove 2-in-1 Moisture Mask & Hand Cream for the past couple of days and I have to admit that it is my least favourite Soap & Glory product ever. I just can't take its weird scent (it's fruity, but on a bad side) - nothing like a typical Soap & Glory scent. I tried to warm up to it for a long time, but each time I've applied it to my hands I immediately wanted to get rid of it! Also, the cream is super sticky, so I could only apply it literally when going to sleep - so I wouldn't have to touch anything for a while. I know that the description says "Moisture Mask" and one of the ways to use it is to apply it and slip cotton gloves over the top for an overnight deep moisture mask treatment, but I think the formula is just too much and it would take absolute ages to use up the whole tub. I absolutely love Soap & Glory Super Intensive Hand Cream and Soap & Glory Hand Food Hand Cream and I am definitely going to repurchase both of them, but I will give this one a miss for sure.

Autumn Hairstyle Tutorial

ghd has challenged me to do Autumn Hairstyle Tutorial and I thought that loose wavy hair and delicate curls with a cute floppy hat would be a perfect choice. I love wearing my hair like that, it's perfect for channelling your boho-chic style and it can also hide this third-day-washed-hair look. To create the look I used my trusty BaByliss You Curl Curling Iron which I had for a couple of years (you can also use standard hair straighteners, I like to use You Curl, because it is wide, so I can create the waves much faster).

STEP 1
I use ghd Style Total Volume Foam* on a towel dried hair - it is great for adding the volume and make my hair looking and feeling fuller.

STEP 2
I spray my hair with TRESemmé Heat Defence Styling Spray to help protect hair when drying and use ghd Paddle Brush* to detangle my mane - I love that it doesn't give me a frizz (has wooden sections) and it's big enough for my long hair.

STEP 3
Now comes BaByliss You Curl and I make sure to take my time and cover every last strand of hair, so there is nothing poker straight peeking through. Essentially, I simply clamp and twist the iron 180 degrees, then flip the iron and repeat the process.

STEP 4
I let the curls cool off for a minute or two and gently ruffle it with my hands to make it more natural. I usually finish off with flipping my hair back and forth and then using a hairspray - my current one is Lee Stafford Hold Tight Firm Hold Hairspray.

What do you think of the finished look?

No 7 Instant Radiance Highlighter review

No 7 Instant Radiance Highlighter review

No 7 Instant Radiance Highlighter took blogging world by storm and equally quickly took a favourite highlighter place in my own make up drawer. It looks dark on the photos, but in reality it is more light pink shade (packaging and the product itself). It has the loveliest highlighter shade and I simply adore its simplicity - I'm just gently gliding it on my cheeks and then blend with my fingers to get a natural finish. I then use the small residue on my fingers to highlight my nose. Cupid's bow, etc. I like applying make up with my fingers, so this product is ideal for me. I have been reaching for it on a daily basis every since I got it and I know it will last me a long time. Definitely something to add to your stash when you're looking for a great highlighter!

Debenhams Autumn/Winter ’14 Blogger Style Challenge

This is my entry for the Debenhams Autumn/Winter ’14 Blogger Style Challenge - more details here. I am creating an outfit based on Debenhams six key A/W14 trends: Modern Military, Pastel Palette, Autumn Luxe, Blue Notes, Pinks & Berries or Winter Greens

I've chosen Pastel Palette for myself. As you probably know I am a huge fan of pastel shades ever since a mint green nail polish from Chanel called Jade started the trend a couple of seasons ago. I always feel very cute and feminine in pastel pinks and lilacs and I think it's also perfect to emulate current Clueless fashion.

I am starting with this amazing Miss Selfridge Shawl collar fur coat which will keep me warm no matter what cold weather may be in London. I decided to pick a party dress which will be perfect for a Christmas party or a family gathering - Début Amethyst jewel trim midi dress has just a perfect amout of sparkle and lovely floaty design. J by Jasper Conran Designer grey suede slingback high court shoeslook look absolutely amazing and I think they would be a perfect heels to dance your night away. To carry all of my essentials I've picked H! by Henry Holland lips bag - super girly and cute. On my nails I would definitely have one of my favourite nail polish shades - Essie Mint Candy Apple nail polish - it's epitome of pastel hues and a firm favourite of many fashionistas.  Prada Candy Florale Eau de Toilette looks and smells playful and flirty while Floozie by Frost French Gold plated teardrop stone earrings would add an extra touch of glamour. To prevent any runny nose or Lemsip action I'd wear Red Herring Pale pink metallic cable knit bobble hat - it has the most gorgeous metallic cable knit to add this extra bit of sparkle.

My second outfit is based on Winter Greens trend and reflects style and personality of lovely Gemma from a wonderful blog Gemsies. She has recently changed her colour to a darker one so I think green shades will go perfectly with her new mane and porcelain skin. I also nominate her for the challenge and can't wait to see her choices!

First, I picked this gorgeous Red Herring Dark green peter pan collar lace dress - I think it's something Gemma would definitely wear since it has a very cute Peter Pan collar and pretty daisy lace overlay. To get some warmth during autumn walks I've chosen The Collection Dark green textured reefer jacket which has an amazing textured effect and its classic shape will never go out of style. Then I added The Collection Black suedette mid heel ankle boots which are perfect to wear with the dresses, skirts and jeans this time of the year. Todd Lynn/EDITION Designer khaki leather tote bag would be perfect match since it is big enough to fit all of Gemma's uni essentials and still look super smart. I went for gold and forest green accessories: Principles by Ben de Lisi Designer pearl and green teardrop earrings and Floozie by Frost French Gold plated cutout cuff bracelet. Last, but not least - how gorgeous is this Yves Saint Laurent Couture Palette?! - it simply screams luxury and style.

Vichy Idéalia Eyes review

Vichy Idéalia Eyes review, beauty, review, skincare, blogger
Vichy Idéalia Eyes review, beauty, review, skincare, blogger

I am a huge fan of Vichy Idéalia Life Serum (review), so I was excited to learn that they are expanding the range and adding Vichy Idéalia Eyes to the skincare family. One swift application instantly transforms my eyes with brightening the dark circles, reducing the fine lines and giving more luminosity to the shaded areas. But stay assured that Vichy Idéalia Eyes not only acts instantly, but also improves and transforms skin over time - it's a win-win situation. I really love the formula - it's very light, but rich and hydrating at the same time. It sinks in almost immediately which means I can safely follow-up with my make up without any worries. As you can see the tip is quite different from the usual ones - it is made of ultra-soft, flexible silicone and was designed especially for the very delicate eye contour area. I actually quite like it, although I only use it to dispense a little bit of product around the eye and then gently dab it with my fingers - but the tip is prone to clogging, so I have to make sure to always wipe it clean after application. I think the issue is similar to Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Eye Cream (review). I've tried a fair share of eye creams over the years and this one has actually made the cut and I will definitely repurchase it.

What's your current eye cream?

Makeup Revloution Goddess of Love Highlighter is simply a love at first sight. So beautiful inside and outside. For £4.99 this triple baked highlighter in a cute heart-shaped box is truly a steal. It has the lovliest champagne shade which looks very natural on the skin. I've found that it is not as finely milled as for example my beloved MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Adored, but is still a pleasure to use and stays put throughout the day. Also, it is absolutely massive with 10g of the product, so it will last me absolute ages. All in all, another Makeup Revloution gem!

Seeing Barry M's The Glitterati Collection I was instantly drawn to this beautiful shade called Fashion Icon. It looks like a starry night sky, full of purple, blue, green and gold glitter from a galaxy far, far away. It's just so gorgeous and I can't seem to take my eyes off it! I am happy to report that it looks just as nice on the nails as in the bottle and hasn't chipped for a couple of days I had it on - I am very impressed! Barry M seems to be killing the nail trends this season by releasing amazing collections, one after the other! I already shared with you my picks from their Autumn Collection (here) and I am not definitely planning to get two more bottles from The Glitterati Collection - Starlet and Socialite so definitely stay tuned for more reviews.

New Primark statement necklace

New Primark statement necklace
New Primark statement necklace

I recently spotted this Primark necklace from their Limited Edition range on their Instagram and decided to check it out more closely in store. It looks very pretty and sturdy, so it's not a wonder why it ended up in my shopping bag - I am sure something similar from Topshop would set me back around £30 instead of £8. I think it's going to be perfect to jazz it up any little black dresses, simple plain t-shirts or floral shirts - everyone needs a little bit of sparkle in their life!

Stacey has recently went through a rough patch and now while recovering she is also spreading the word about the importance of having regular smear tests - so book yours if it is overdue! I've discovered Stacey's blog months ago and I loved it from the first post I read - she truly is a make up addict and her beauty hauls are definitely not for the faint-hearted. I feel really privileged to be able to guest post on her blog, so read the post now - I hope you'll like it!

I know that Barry M has released a couple of palettes by now, but I was never really drawn to get any of them. I think the selection of the shades always put me off and I thought that even they looked very pretty they will be sitting in my drawer and not really getting used. Everything changed when I saw this brand new and limited edition Barry M Starry Eyed Shadow & Blush Palette. It has a mixture of matte and shimmer shades and in my opinion is absolutely perfect for autumn! I must admit I am not really a fan of the first nude-like matte shade and the second metallic blue, but the rest of them is definitely my cup of tea. A little extra is a coral/golden blusher at the very end - very neat to have it in the palette and I like this way better that the weird eyeshadow primer which is included in other palettes. The shades and the blusher are very decently pigmented and I am very happy with the staying power, plus I haven't experienced any big creasing or fall out. Everything is hidden in a cardboard packaging with a magnet clasp and a small mirror.

Do you like the look of this palette?

I aboslutely love Bourjois mascaras and almost every new release is quickly becoming my new obsession favourite. What I am looking for in a mascara is to giving me more volume - not necessarily length, because I have naturally long lashes, but volume and deep black colour are a must. Bourjois Twist Up The Volume Mascara ticks all of these boxes and I have been using it for months now. It is definitely my unsung hero product and something I cannot live without.

I must admit I didn't like it at first but when formula dried out a little and I found a way to use this wand to my best advantage, I've completely fallen in love with it. I always make sure to use it on Step 2 - twisted and just brush it through my lashes. Only then I get my lashes long and volumed. Step 1 didn't work for me at all and just glued my lashes together and I was left with spider legs. But Step 2 works wonders - as you can see - and it is definitely mascara I have been reaching for most this year.

Do you like Bourjois mascaras?
