Le Couvent des Minimes is a new bodycare brand on the English market - it's been in Boots for only one month. After trying a couple of products from the range and attending a launch event, I can safely say that it is a younger and cheaper version of L'Occitane (who also owns Le Couvent des Minimes). Le Couvent des Minimes is a range of simple, authentic and natural French products which provide daily essentials for the whole family. All the ingredients and good for the skin and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. What is so special about the brand is that it is true to their monastic heritage and use the very same herbs and botanics in the natural beauty recipes which were used hundreds of years ago (dating back to 1600s!).
One of the ranges is The Recipe of the Morning, which has a bell sketch on a packaging. This is a representation of the morning bells that would wake up the convent and pays tribute to this particular time of day when nature comes to life and reveals all its richness. The fragrance opens with crisp notes of apple, orange and lemon; heart notes include pear flower, fig and basil while base notes are full of woods, cedar and soft musk. I urge you to give the products a sniff, they smell absolutely gorgeous and most of them have an ingredient which is not commonly used - pear and pear flower, so if you're a fan, Le Couvent des Minimes is simply a must-have for you!
Other ranges are The Recipe of Love with fruity and floral scent of orange blossom, The Recipe of the Cloister with floral fragrance including rose, peony and grapefruit, Relaxing Recipe with lavender oils and more. They also include hand creams, shower gels, body moisturisers, soaps, body butters and lip balms, so there's something for everyone!
