Yesterday I made a stop at NARS pop up shop in Soho's Space NK to get a first glance at the brand new NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow range* and also to get my make up done by NARS make up wizards. Exclusively launching in Space NK shops around the country with series of exclusive events and demonstrations, and rolling out to all NARS counters at the beginning of August, the range consists of twelve unique shades. All of them have dual-application formula which means that you can apply them dry for a sheer, airbrush-like finish with a luminous sheen or apply with a dampened brush for high-impact and intense colour. The colour range is really wide from a delicate champagne/peach to black hues, so you can create a lot of beautiful looks. In addition, you can also get matching NARS #49 Wet/Dry Eyeshadow Brush to achieve flawless finish.
Europa - gossamer pink peach
Dione - metallic champagne beige
Callisto - icy pink silver
Giove - navy
Subra - black orchid
Sycorax - black
Other colours in the range are:
Andromeda - alabaster
Cassiopeia - iridescent electric pink
Desdemona - rich shimmering burgundy
Himalia - shimmering topaz
Lysithea - shark grey
Phoebe - deep shimmering amethyst
My daytime make up look was beautifully done using Himalia in wet as a base, then followed up with Subra in dry to add a little definition to the eye. Lastly, a little bit of Sycorax in wet was added to the lash line. I absolutely love these eyeshadows and the effect they give - strong, dramatic finish or a soft touch of colour depending on a mood, outfit or daily schedule. It's like having two eyeshadows in one. The pigmentation is excellent, they blend easily and there's no need for wet eyeshadow to 'settle' - perfect for morning make up rush. Also, you can mix and match them (just as my make up was done) - so apply wet eyeshadow base, followed by dry eyeshadow, or do it other way round. The packaging is nice and sturdy with the usual NARS 'rubbery' finish and a magnet clasp.
