I know I am a super-late to the game of cleansing butters, with blogging world covered with reviews especially praising Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm, but to be honest I've found the idea of 'butter' removing my make up and me dragging it all over my face quite repulsive. We all have our favourites, and I am sticking to my Bioderma Micellar Solution and Elemis Sensitive Cleansing Wash routine to remove my make up on majority of days. However, with discovering The Body Shop Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Make Up Remover and The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil and loving these two products, I decided to try another one from this range: The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter.

This cleanser is an indulgent make-up remover for the whole face. It gently and efficiently melts away make-up and impurities, leaving skin feeling clean, soft, refreshed and pampered. I honestly couldn't believe how gentle it is when removing all types of make up including mascara and eyeliner. The product is quite thick I have to scrape some from the tin and then simply rub it all around my face. I rinse it off with warm water and voila - my face is fresh and clean without any feeling of tight or dry. It has a very subtle scent which makes it even more of a pleasure to use. I think I still prefer The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil since it has a liquid formula, but this Cleansing Butter would be perfect to take on holiday since it is compact, light and not prone to any spillage.

What is your favourite cleansing butter?

  1. I completely agree that using a 'butter' to take your makeup off sounds completely insane and a bit gross! But I reckon this one is actually really nice. From your review it sounds surprisingly nice! x

  6. Ooooh I've heard many good things about this and price-depending I may pick it up today to try it alongside my other 30 cleansing balms / oils etc!! It's the first time I have heard it called butter but am assuming it is similar to most other - an oil-based cleansing 'thing'.... xx

  8. I'm currently using this. I love the texture but can't use it anywhere near my eyes as it stings like crazy (fragrance is pretty high on the ingredients list) so i won't be getting again. Generally absolutely love balm type cleansers though.
