I have never ever had a luck with eye liners. I have a drawer full of them and it seems it doesn't matter on the formula - gel, liquid, pen-style, brush - acquiring the skill always eludes me. You can always see this line from where my eyelashes are growing - super annoying! Some suggested using black eyeshadow and smudging it around the eyelashes and then fill it up with the liner, but I was after a precise and clean-cut look. I think I have finally found a product which helps me to achieve it: NYX The Curve Felt Tip Eye Liner.
As you can see, it has a completely unique shape to help apply liner mistake-proof. I absolutely love this ergonomic shape and grip zone to make application precise, secure and effortless. The most important thing is that it goes above my eyelashes, which are naturally very long and usually stand in a way of a standard pen eye liners. This helps me to reach eyelashes line precisely and fully. After the first use I was amazed how good my cat flick looks and although I need to practice a little bit more, I finally have the tool to work with.
