A while ago Bourjois has released its Happy Light collection and I've bought foundation, concealer and one of the primers from the range. Recently, I got the other primer in my Beauty Haul (see what else I got) and thought it's going to be fun to review and compare them together. I must say that I love using primers, my usual go-to primers are Laura Mercier Foundation Primer for a night out and Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer for Dry & Sensitive Skin for staying in and make up on a budget.

Bourjois Happy Light Matte Serum Primer
This primer is suited for normal to combination skin and has a matte effect. This is the original primer which I've bought and a rare occurrence for me, since I always go for radiance products to give my face this extra glow. However, I thought that it would be nice to have a matte product for a change and that is why I decided to give it a go. It is slightly perfumed (as majority of Bourjois products), but the scent fades very quickly once applied. It's extremely smooth and lightweight and delivers the promised results: matte effect, smaller looking pores and perfect base for a foundation. I think I'll get a lot of use out of it during hot summer months.

Bourjois Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer
This primer is suited for normal to dry skin and has a luminous effect. Having a small arsenal of radiance products I didn't really need this primer, but I guess there's a thin line between needing and wanting. I justified the purchase by telling myself that now I have a complete Happy Light collection and it is more suited for my skin type and I wasn't wrong in the slightest. I prefer it much better, probably because it gives me more 'moisturising' effect and with my skin prone to dryness I want that extra moisture from where I can get it. Just as the other one it sinks in easily and with the subtle luminous particles it gives my face this extra glow I really like.

Did you try any of these primers? Which one is your favourite?

  1. Ohh, these look fab. I haven't seen either of these new primers yet. I am so tempted by the Luminous Serum Primer as I suffer from dry/dehydrated skin. Did you find it helped to keep your foundation on, or wasn't there really any difference? Just wondering if it will be similar to my MAC Strobe Cream.

    1. Hi Laura, they definitely helped with the foundation-life. I think people with oily skin will definitely appreciate them, especially the matte one - my foundation stayed put intact for the whole day! X

  3. I've heard so many great things about Bourjois in general and I'm really sad that it's not available in the U.S.! The Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer sounds like it's right up my alley!

  5. Hi, love! Unfortunately I was given no option to reply to you on my blog post, so this is the next best thing. I thought there were some amazing looks at this year's Bafta's but do admit that the fashion has been better previous years. I'm very excited to see all the amazing outfits at the oscar's too! :)
Also, I know this is a big favour, but I know that you used to follow me on bloglovin' but unfortunately, all my followers were wiped. Would you mind refollowing me? x http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/11863183

  6. I'm a huge fan of primers and these sound great. I'd usually pick a matte finish but lately my skin has been less shiny and more in need of a radiance boost - maybe like you'll I'll have to try both of these! x

  7. Oooh I really like the sound of both of these, especially the Luminous Serum one! I love anything that brightens/illuminates the skin (: but the Matte one might be something to go for once the weather starts hotting up, like you said - sure I'll get my hands on both of these soon enough! x

  11. We could be waiting a little longer than anticipated Nike NFL Jersey to find out if the NFL will make a return to Los Angeles in 2016. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that New York Jets owner Woody Johnson told reporters on Wednesday that a vote for relocation 2015 hot jerseys could be pushed back to March. Johnson made the comment after the Committee on wholesale jersey Los Angeles Opportunities held a meeting at the 2015 Nike NFL Green Salute To Service Limited Jersey league's home office in NHL Jersey New York.
