Ever since I saw rumours and then swatches of the newest addition to Revlon family - ColorBurst Matte Balms, I set my heart on these three amazing shades: Mischievous, Unapologetic and Showy. For now, I've decided to go for these three since they range from peach coral, fuchsia and pink, but I may be also lusting after something red - we'll see if I'll cave in eventually. I own few of the original Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balms and I quite like the formula since it's pigmented and easy to apply. However, I am not a fan of the minty scent these balms have and sadly the new additions also got it. Putting the scent aside, I still enjoy these balms although they don't give the perfect matte pout, they will definitely accentuate your lips and give a burst of colour. I also love the matte packaging which comes with it although my OCD has already kicked in to store these separately to avoid any scratches. I know that together with the matte range Revlon has released ColorBurst Lacquer Balms with a high shine finish, but I am not drawn to them in the slightest and have no plans to get anything from that range.

My favourite balm from the ones I got is Showy, described as a blue based bright pink. It reminds me of a more vibrant version of the MAC Up The Amp lipstick which I've reviewed recently. Second place goes to Unapologetic which is a stunning super pinky red shade and I think I will wear it a lot in the summer. It also reminds me of one of my MAC lipsticks - this time it's All Fired Up from the Retro Matte Collection. Mischievous proved to be true to its name and this light orange shade is my biggest disappointment. It is not as pigmented as the other two and it's really hard to apply - I had to use my LUSH Santa's Lip Scrub followed with a hint of The Body Shop Honeymania Lip Balm (which has a very light formula) before applying it and it still looks little patchy.

Did you pick any of the new Revlon releases? Which shade is your favourite?

  15. Oh wow, these look super moisturising too :) I can't sit to pick some up to try I have to admit I wasn't a huge fan of the original ones I thought they smelt a little weird I preferred Borjouis offering there is something appealing about a matte version though x
