2013 Beauty Favourites

This year has been a discovery year in terms of skincare, make up and general beauty. It was an eye opener in so many ways and I've learnt so much from other bloggers, PRs and by my own testing and trailing new products. I also successfully managed to complete my last year resolution and got acquainted with eyeshadows - the application, techniques and suitable shades for my blue eyes. At first I only used MUA palettes not wanting to invest much, but at the very end of the year - in December - I got Urban Decay Naked 2 and Naked 3 palettes and I am very eager to release it's full potential. I also established my skincare regime and consistently stuck with it which resulted in (almost) spotless skin.

EYES
I have been a lot braver with eyeshadows and my go-to palette which I used most was MUA Undressed palette, I think it has complimentary shades and it was great investment. I also enjoyed using MUA Heaven and Earth palette and my custom Inglot duo. I was faithful to Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Curl Mascara (and I still have no idea why I haven't posted about it!), but my discovery mascara was Laura Mercier Faux Lashes Mascara.

LIPS
Once again, it was all about statement lips for me, but the 2013 discoveries have to be Revlon Lip Butters - especially Cotton Candy shade and MAC Creme Cup lipstick which I had on my lips virtually all autumn.

FACE
It was a year of discovery and for my face make up I loved using Laura Mercier Foundation Primer followed by No 7 Youthful CC Cream and Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation. This combination proved to be so successful I have used it for my wedding make up and it stayed on all day and night long! Bourjois Cream Blushers in array of four fabulous colours made sure that my cheeks were always properly flushed.
As for skincare, I have found my Holy Grail product - Elemis Sensitive Cleansing Wash which ensured that my skin has been in the best state for years! I have been using it every single day since February and it is so gentle, smells amazing and I can see it works - it is The Best 2013 Product for me and I cannot imagine myself without it! I've also incorporated Bioderma Micellar Solution into my cleanse routine and my favourite day cream was Simple Kind To Skin Protecting Moisture Cream.

NAILS
I did a post about My Manicure Routine, but I want to give extra mention to wonderful Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat which prolonged the life of my nail polishes and gave extra shine and also The Body Shop Almond Nail & Cuticle Oil which nourished dry cuticles.
As for nail polishes, my favourite shade had to be Illamasqua Harem which got lots and lots of compliments - whether it was on my fingers or toes. I also discovered Essie nail polishes and did two hauls in spring and summer. It's worth mentioning that I wore Essie Mademoiselle shade when I was getting married and it complimented my dress beautifully.

HAIR
I have been faithful to Aussie and used Miracle Shine range throughout the year although I also enjoyed discovering Bumble & Bumble products. My favourite de-tangler and de-frizzer was Lee Stafford I Hate My Hair The Day It's Washed Solution Spray and I loved using TRESemmé Oil Elixir on my ends.

BODY
I gave my body a little bit of pamper using The Body Shop Vineyard Peach and Honeymania ranges. I also gave my first try in fake tan category despite worrying for years that I will end up resembling an orange and completely fell in love with He-Shi Express Liquid Tan. My fragrance discovery was Victoria's Secret fragrance mists and I reviewed two on my blog: Pure Daydream and Love Spell.

There it is! I seriously underestimated how long this post is going to be and how many products I could easily include in it. I'm actually proud that I've managed to give a lot of products a go and all of them are loved and used. Do you see anything you also like in here? What is your favourite 2013 beauty or make up product?
