Part of the limited edition Tropical Taboo collection, MAC Adored Mineralize Skinfinish is the perfect example how a beauty product can be both amazing in terms of package and performance at the same time. It is my first venture to the world of MAC mineralize skinfinish products and I dare say not the last one. Described as a coral with a delicate beige pearl powder, Adored is one of those multi-purpose products that can be used as a highlighter or all-over face powder for a gorgeous-looking glowing skin. I have also successfully tried my luck with applying it as a blusher on the apples of my cheeks and the result was a stunning coral shade - very natural looking. Soft and and finely-milled powder is a dream to apply and the frost finish looks great with my pale complexion. All in all, a beautiful gem and definitely not to be missed!
I have been lusting after Leona Lewis for The Body Shop range ever since I saw the adorable deer design of the products. But I could never justify spending £16 for a blusher or bronzer, the price was too steep for me. Luckily, armed with recent 40% off code and the fact that they're reduced to mere £5 each in the Going, Going, Gone section, I have both of these LL Cruelty Free Shimmer Palettes.
Oh Deer! Blusher gives a lovely shimmer to your face and cheeks. It is not the best pigmented blusher, but still gives a healthy glow and you can use it as a highlighter and accentuate your best features. It is perfect for this everyday, natural make up. I adore the deer print so much, I don't want to spoil it.
Oh Deer! Bronzer has a lot more pigmentation and the combination of the three shades gives perfect glow to a tanned skin. I use a blusher brush to swirl the colours together and put on my face where it gives a shimmer perfect for a night out. I saw some people complaining that the range is too shimmery, but I guess you need to read when you're buying, it clearly says "Shimmer Palette" on the package.
Today I've uploaded my second YouTube video. I hope I did better than the last one and you'll like my choices of the favourite September products. I have never done this feature on my blog, so it was fun to share it via YouTube. Please subscribe to my channel and tell me if any of the products I've mentioned is also your favourite!
Essie Naughty Nautical was part of the summer range, but since I have so many nail polish shades that need to be tried and tested at least once it is first time I'm giving it a go. Not surprisingly it's a love from the first sight. Inspired by the open seas, this beautiful shade of aqua has a delicate shimmer finish. The finish is more visible than in Sunday Funday (also part of Summer 2013 Collection), which is a winner in my books. It glisters in the natural and artificial light and would be perfect on a tanned toes. You only need two coats for opaque and perfect finish.
Bourjois is one of my favourite high-street brands. I adore the cute packaging, new collections every few months and the quality of products. From the first iconic round pot blusher I've bought, I was hooked!
Recently, celebrating 150th anniversary Bourjois reinvented and released its legendary Java Rice Powder - best selling cult classic from 1879. It is a ultra fine powder with a velvety texture which gives a smooth and radiant complexion. I love the subtle scent and how it does an amazing job in setting the make up. I also cannot get over how pretty the package is - there's something about the vintage fonts and designs which make me think of our great-great-grandmothers using beauty products like we are today.
Another new products which you can find on Bourjois shelves is Blush Exclusif. If you are fan of Bourjois cream blushers (which I reviewed here), you simply must pick up this gem. Its formula contains pH reactive pigments to transform your cheeks into a customised pink shade. So it's like you have your own personal blusher colour - a holy grail for me - blusher-lover! The formula is easily belndable, signature scent lingers delicately on the cheeks and it gives a subtle glow. Perfection!
top - New Look, jeans - Dorothy Perkins, shoes - Dorothy Perkins,
bag - H&M,
lips - Revlon Cherry Blossom
Yesterday was one of the last days when you can leave the house without any jacket or parka. I embraced it by wearing this cute peplum top from New Look's Petite range. I also wore my trusty Dorothy Perkins jeans and flats. Channeling my inner Parisian chic I put some red lipstick on and twisted my hair into a hair bun.
My favourite lipstick brand of all times has recently released a new MAC Retro Matte Collection. All of shades have a matte finish - something I love ever since I've bought my first MAC lipstick (Myth) a couple of years ago. The collections has both new and old shades and if they are sold out at your local MAC counter, don't fret - all shades are now part of permanent collection! Additionally, there are also Pro Longwear Lip Pencils, but as I am not interested in them, I picked four new lipstick shades: Dangerous, Relentlessly Red, All Fired Up and Flat Out Fabulous.
Dangerous shade can be described as orange-red. Think of a Morange mixed with a bright red lipstick. It's gorgeous and certainly gives statement lips!
All Fired Up has a bright fuchsia shade and for me is a darker version of Relentlessly Red. I am going to wear it during winter and I think it compliments my skin tone.
Flat Out Fabulous may be my favourite from this collection. A bright plum shade with matte finish stole my heart as soon as I saw it on-line. It reminds me of a darker version of Sleek Mystic lipstick (which also has matte finish) and will be perfect for autumn!
Yes, I've finally joined YouTube! It was one of my New Year resolutions and I decided to give it a go. I am still unsure whether my nerves can stand the pressure, so please bear with me. At the moment I am a mixture of emotions from being excited to shaking slightly, but I truly hope it will work out in the end.
I never post anything personal on my blog, so I thought that YouTube maybe a nice outlet for you to learn a little bit more about me. I plan to do videos of popular tags, monthly favourites and have already a special treat coming up in a few weeks that will involve my other half, so stay tuned and subscribe to my channel!
I would also like to thank my readers for all the support, every comment, tweet and e-mail. You guys make my day and make me smile every time I read them. I love that we can all share a mutual passion for beauty and fashion. :)
Recently launched, Liz Earle Strengthening Nail Colour has made a stir in the blogging community with timeless collection of 12 wearable nail polish shades, perfect for any occasion. Each shade was named after a rose to recognise botanical heritage - a very nice idea adding a perfect touch to the whole range. There's something for everyone from neutrals and darks to pops of colour and classic shades of red. Every nail polish contains avocado and borage oils and has a formula which helps to strengthen and protect nails. As all Liz Earle products, the nail polishes are BUAV approved and contain to animal extracts. I like the range of shades and the bottle design, which looks very chic and grown-up. They have a standard applicator, which is easy to use and my only critique is that their drying time is quite long, so don't expect to rush out of the doors after application.
Liz Earle Grey Dawn* is a beautiful shade of grey and perfect for everyday wear. I think it's ideal for office environment, when you are bored with classic nudes but cannot go for a bold pink or orange hues. This shade compliments all the skin tones and you cannot go wrong with it.
Liz Earle Ebb Tide* shade drawn me by its unique name. This chic and understated tone is perfect for autumn and I see myself wearing it a lot this season. It still stands out in the crowd and I'm planning to add some discrete glitter tips to give it more sparkle.
Price: £7.50 per 12ml bottle.
You can get the nail polishes from Liz Earle stores and on-line, selected counters at John Lewis and Boots and on QVC.
La Prairie is a brand that I've became familiar with only recently. With the shiny stainless-steel-like packages which scream luxurious and potent ingreditens inside, the brand has been the pioneer in cellular, anti-aging therapy for more than half a century.
La Prairie Advanced Marine Biology Day Cream SPF 20*
This lightweight, moisturising cream-gel firms your skin, while offering high-level protection against environmental impact, including harmful sunrays thanks to SPF 20. Its youth-protecting qualities come from marine-derived plant sources used for the first time in a skin-treatment product. It helps restore the balance of your skin while protecting it against premature ageing.
La Prairie Anti-Aging Eye Cream SPF 15*
This cream targets the sensitive eye zone in three ways: by helping prevent moisture loss, regenerate damage, and maintain the vital condition of delicate skin around the eyes. It also protects against harmful UV rays and environmental pollutants. Dark under-eye circles and puffiness can be a thing of a past.
La Prarie Anti Aging Eye & Lip Contour Cream*
The newest cream on the block targets two delicate areas in one luxurious solution. It promises to fast-repair and correct the early signs of wrinkles are well as perfects and protects the skin around eyes and lips by hydrating and nourishing areas. Dark circles and other signs of stress and fatigue are minimised and lips are plumped and moisturised.
Nothing can beat a good and stylish pair of boots for autumn and winter. When Julie showed me these amazing Topshop MADAM boots I knew I had to check them out. With the £38 tag - very reasonable for Topshop - cut out detail and contrast patent toecap, these boots are perfect to follow the grunge and trends this season. I was a little bit worried that they are too chunky and scary, but dressing them up with some dress and skinny jeans, jumper and a parka proved to be perfect combination. I am also looking forward to style them with some frilly socks.
If you are looking for a nude lip look with a touch of gloss, then MAC Creme Cup is the lipstick for you! Named good enough to eat, the creamsheen finish gives a natural and glossy look to your lips. I love the creamy texture and the fact that you can use it for your day and night look with strong eye make up. I honestly think that this shade doesn't get enough praise - it's simply perfect!
