The Procrastinating Beauty Blogger Tag

I saw this tag on a couple of blogs and it sounded like a fun. I rarely do any of them, but I wanted to inject something extra to my blog.
If you fancy to take part, don't be shy and send me your link!

1.  Name a beauty regime that you rarely do?
I never ever use a toner. It made my skin miserable back in the first day of uni. I was covered with spots and suffered with dry skin on my face. Lately, I've found out that it was simply too harsh for my skin and that I should never use alcohol-based toner. Rose Water should do the trick without any nastiness. I was, however, persuaded to buy Elemis Soothing Apricot Toner (stay tuned for a review!) which goes hand-in-hand with my holy grail Elemis Sensitive Cleansing Wash (review here).

2.  Is washing your make-up brushes something that you do regularly?
Yes, I do it regularly and use MAC's Brush Cleanser.

3.  How long will you last with chipped nail polish?
I will probably last a day or two. If it is a statement colour though (like black or deep purple), I may cover the chips if I'm in the hurry!

4.  How long will you put off buying/replacing a beauty product, even if you need it?
If I need the product, I will try to find a deal on-line or in-store and buy it then. If it's something I really want, but not necessarily need, I put it on my wishlist and save money to get it.

5.  What is your worst beauty habit?
Not putting body balm/body lotion after every shower. I used to do it every single day and I saw a massive difference. It's just harder for me to do it during the winter, when the product doesn't sink in immediately and I hate putting my PJs on a moisturised body. I am also guilty of not drinking enough water during the day.

6.  Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time?
Cooking. I hate cooking and will rather starve (which sometimes happens!) than do a proper meal from scratch. It may sound weird but I prefer baking so much more - putting into the oven et voilá!

7.  When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready to the last minute?
It varies. Sometimes I start to get ready very early and sometimes when I'm busy I leave it for the last minute. I hate the latter, because I hate rushing and being late - it's so unprofessional.

8.  Can you commit to spending bans?
I have never been on a spending ban, but I think I would last (not sure about 100 days though!). I like to look for bargains and to think I save money on these kind of skills.

9.  How organised is your make-up and nail polish collections?
My make-up is organised in the drawers and some of my personal best items are in my Muji storage. Nail polishes are also in the drawers, some small satchels and travelling items are in the old GlossyBoxes and the stash of the unused items stays in the Soap & Glory bag.

The latest Pür Minerals eye shadow palette* was inspired by the recent movie Beautiful Creatures. I did not watch the movie or read the books (but the first volume is sitting patiently on my Kindle), but I know that the plot circles around the battle between the light and dark.

The palette embraces this concept beautifully with eight shadows, one sultry Charcoal eyeliner and one luscious Sheer Pink lip gloss. The earthy shades are perfect to create understated look and the pops of darker plum and violet can create statement look. It is my first Pür Minerals palette and I must admit that the coverage is great, the shadows don't flake and they are very easy to apply. The attached eye shadow brush is very soft and slides on the lids perfectly. Last, but not least, Pür Minerals does not test its products on animals and you can read my review of the 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation here.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine nail polish in Lychee seems very popular among beauty bloggers and I can see why! It is a beautiful nude shade which is perfect for every occasion and will certainly never go out of style. I love how shiny the nail polish is and how the colour compliments my skin. For me, this shade should be called latte - so creamy and milky. The staying power (even without the top coat) is very impressive and I just cannot recommend it enough!

The Fragrance Shop Discovery Club Box

Following the success of GlossyBox and Birchbox (and many, many others), it was only the time new box arrived on the block - full of perfume to satisfy even the most demanding noses. The Fragrance Shop introduced a Discovery Club box full of samples and details on the latest fragrance launches. Each quarter Discovery Club members will receive a special box containing five samples. The pack also includes exclusive discounts allowing to test the product and then save on the purchase.

I think the box is a very nice idea for the perfume addicts - you can save money on the latest releases. I know that the testers are easy to get (sometimes you can even order them on the Internet), but if you want to spend some money - it's good to try this box out. I expect it to be a huge sell-out before Christmas! Box costs only £5 per quarter and there is no commitment - you cancel at any time.

Out of the samples above, my favourites are Nina L'Eau, Just Cavalli and Couture La La (this one would compliment my blog well, right?). I have £5 discounts on all of these perfumes 30ml or above. My birthday is coming up next month, so I think I'll discreetly show these to my husband.

LUSH The Comforter Bubble Bar

The Comforter Bubble Bar is LUSH's classic and apparently they most sold-out bath bar. I was instantly drawn to it, because of the the smell. It smells like blackcurrant, blackberry and fruity makes me wanna rub it all on me. If you tried Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly, you will know and love the smell of The Comforter. I've cut it into three smaller pieces and my bath still turned into a lovely pink colour with some bubbles. It gives me ultimate relax and I can't wait to use more and more!

Organix Coconut Milk Anti Breakage Serum

Organix Coconut Milk Anti Breakage Serum beauty review blog

Organix Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum helps to repair damaged hair and mend split ends and frizziness. It promises to help reduce everyday damage while adding strength and elasticity to weak and brittle hair. This product is great for anyone who has hair and needs it repaired and love the smell of coconuts.

The instructions are super easy: place one squirt in palm of hand to towel dry hair, and apply it into the ends of your hair and all over. I am only using it on the ends of my hair, otherwise hair gets too greasy. The product is heavy, so I need to be careful to watch the amount of product I'm applying. On the other side, it makes it more economical, I'm sure this bottle will last ages. I love the clear bottle and the whole design. All in all, a great product for hair to be pampered with!

Revlon Lip Butters in Cotton Candy and Sorbet

Revlon lip butters were the product to get for your lips while ago. Colour burst lip butter combines beautiful colour with a buttery balm to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips. After doing some research, I've found that it has a pampering gel formula which helps to glide on lips smoothly and hydrates the lips. I think that the best feature of these lip butters is the formula. The balm like feel to the lips making them feel soothed, pampered, and conditioned is simply something not to be missed.

Cotton candy shade is more of a nude when swatched, despite the beautiful deep rose pink colour. It is still lovely shade, but it does give only a small coverage, so it may be disappointing for some. You can of course build it up for your liking but be prepared that after one smooth glide you will have a beige lips and a very small hint of colour.

Sorbet is a much darker shade. It gives a medium coverage from the first application and the lips look very fresh. The high shine finish is a great touch and I like how effortlessly I can build up a stronger, statement look with gliding the lip butter three or four times. It has a nice bright, fun fuchsia colour without being garish or harsh. It looks so summery and fresh - perfect for spring!

Dainty Doll blushers: Orange County Girl and Hippy Shake

Dainty Doll blushers: Orange County Girl and Hippy Shake beauty, blusher, Dainty Doll, review,
Dainty Doll blushers: Orange County Girl and Hippy Shake beauty, blusher, Dainty Doll, review,

For a really long time I wanted to try the famous Dainty Doll products. They were launched by Nicola Roberts aka 1/5 of Girls Aloud and costed fortune in Harrods. Thankfully, I've found them seriously reduced in a small stall in a shopping centre. I also know that the brand was reduced in one Internet store a while ago.

Dainty Doll was developed especially to enhance the beauty of fairer skin tones. The range makes makes it easier for those with paler skin tones to achieve the ideal shade every time. I decided to buy two blushers in cream and powder to test them out. The package is sturdy and nice with a big mirror for a touch up on the run. As you can see the cream blusher is smaller than the powder one. All blushers contains vitamins A and E and are rich in antioxidants.

This cream blusher is in a gorgeous shade called Orange County Girl. It is peach with a little glittery particles which make the face look fresh and illuminate the skin. The formula is very soft and smooth, which makes it a pleasure to use. It gives medium coverage, so you need to be careful not to over-apply. I definitely want to try other shades!

The powder blusher goes by the name of Hippy Shake and it is a very pale lilac colour. It is much more softer and paler blusher and to be honest I am a little bit disappointed by it. The shade is very pretty in the package, but somehow gets lost on the cheeks and I had to be careful not to be left with two pale circles on my face. I think this shade is perfect only for those with a porcelain skin.

I wanted to try something from The Balm range for a really long time, but somehow I never had the opportunity to test the product first and I didn't want to rely solely on Internet swatches. So I was very happy to see a whole range of The Balm products in & Other Stories store.

Cabana Boy is a paraben free blusher in a lovely shade of pink/dusty-rose with a little shimmer. Don't worry about the shimmer too much, it is very light and it will add something extra to your cheekbones. It is very pigmented, so you don't need a lot of product and it lasts the entire day depending how much you put on.

The package is very cute and there's even a mirror for a touch-up and go. It will not last long in your make up bag - the cardboard will dent and bend, so I think the best choice is to keep in on a dressing  table. Also, be careful with it, since it is a hard powder. I've heard stories of girls dropping it and breaking the entire contents.

Another item of my & Other Stories haul is Sateen Aubergine Eye Colour Palette. It has four colours in different textures which help create a complete daytime or night-time look. I love the selection of the shades and I have my eye on a different sets. This palette is easy to put into a make up bag to use on the go. The shades are gorgeous and the pigmentation is very decent. They've lasted all day with my MUA Eye Primer. If you want to try the eyeshadows from this store, I'd recommend investing in the palette, because it costs £12 while you can buy a single eyeshadow starting at £7.

& Other Stories "Voile Pink" Blusher review blogger bbloggers Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet "Go, girl, seek happy nights to happy days."

One of the make up products I like to treat myself to is blusher. I couldn't possibly leave & Other Stories store without one! After long debate and testing almost all of the shades available (each blusher costs £10), I went for "Voile Pink" which is a strong and pigmented hot pink shade. I adore the package - crystal clear with a simple writing. It lets the product speak for itself. It is a great addition to my collection. I only need a stroke of a brush for my cheeks to get the colour. The staying power is good too.
After a little bit of searching, I've found out that the quote "Go girl seek happy nights to happy days..." imprinted on the blusher is actually from the Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. In a scene from this play, the Nurse tells Juliet to look for love and happiness that my last through many nights and days - to find a life and live it. I think it's a beautiful way to add something extra into a simple blusher and I am sure I'll think of trying to be happy and seizing the day every time I put this blusher on.

& Other Stories haul

& Other Stories is a new kid on the block of a fashion and beauty map in London. It offers shoes, bags, accessories and beauty to create personal style, or story. Behind the design are ateliers in Paris and Stockholm which put great attention to detail and quality into creation. & Other Stories is a brand under the H&M Group and I would call it a hybrid between Zara and aesthetic. The products are mass produced but with a clean cuts and innovative creations. I think it's a great place to look for some statement pieces, but be careful to check the label, because the price may give you heart-attack. I think & Other Stories has more emphasis on the creation and quality of materials rather than quick fix of it's H&M older sibling.

I really enjoyed the experience of the whole store with white walls and concrete floors. It was actually refreshing to enter a simple space. Everything is so raw and reminds me so much of an amazing blog Love Aesthetics written by Ivania. I only had a long look in a beauty department, but I know I will come back for more. Stay tuned for my reviews of the stuff I've bought - I want more!

MUA has recently released a new eyeshadow palette called The Undress Me Too Palette. It is first palette with the names of all the eyeshadow (a huge plus!) and the package is white instead of cheap-looking black plastic (another plus). The palette is perfect to create a natural make up. It is made up of 12 warm and timeless shades that will suit all the skin tones and are perfect for every occasion.

You can easily use Naked, Devotion and Shy for highlighting the eyes, while the bronze shades of Fiery and Dreamy can act as a base. The darker shades are perfect to achieve a smoky eye effect. The palette has been named a dupe of Urban Decay's Naked 2 and from the swatches I saw, they look incredibly similar. I still want to get UD Naked 2, but for now (and £4) this one will do.
