These are my Easter nails - 6 shades of lilac. Together with mint, it is one of my favourite nail colours and I love collecting different shades. It's also fun to make some ombré looks, like the one today. I actually have more lilac nail polishes, some are left in Poland and some had to wait for another occasion, because I wanted to include three new ones from my recent haul. Just to add, the base on my ring fingers is Revlon's Lilac Pastelle.

Recent Boots haul

Yes, I went crazy, but I just couldn't pass on the current 3 for 2 offer in Boots. I've bought my first Essie nail polishes, Aussie shampoo and conditioner which I wanted to try for a long time, some new hair products, Revlon lipsticks and new range of Sinful Colors nail polishes - fresh from US! Can't wait to try and test everything and of course... write the reviews!

Magnifibres Brush-on False Lashes Review

Magnifibres Brush-on False Lashes* are the easiest solution to achieve the look of false eyelashes under 60 seconds. There is no glue, no mess and no fuss. 100 % natural brush-on fibres create an immediate and stunning false lash effect - achieving length and volume. Magnifibres are very easy to apply and since they stick to your actual lashes they look completely natural. Be careful though, because the product is aimed at people with naturally longer lashes - you need something for the fibres to stick to.

In three easy steps you can complete the whole look:
Step 1: Apply your own mascara as usual and immediately move onto Step 2.
Step 2: Apply Magnifibres onto your lashes while the mascara is still wet, using the same technique as if you were applying mascara.
Step 3: Wait 30-60 seconds so the fibres can stick to your lashes, then apply a second coat of your usual mascara to cover the white fibres.

For me, they wouldn't replace false lashes but they are effective. I covered my entire lashes to get a full effect and the fibres did not get into my eye - I'm very pleased with that as I wear contact lenses and am always wary of the eye hygiene. Other option is to cover only the tips of your eyelashes, which will work great on a daily basis. I was scared when I saw fibres at first, they remind me of a spider webs, but there's nothing to be frightened of.

You may expect to 'sacrifice' one of mascaras for the product - you can buy the cheaper one for that - some fibre stays on the mascara brush, so it won't be appealing for everyone to put it back to Chanel or Dior mascara. The package is very sleek and I love how it has a pearly/shimmery shine to it - I wish mascaras were that pretty instead of the usual black! All in all, a great way to try something new and give your lashes a little oomph.

MUA Mosaic Blusher English Rose Review

MUA Mosaic Blusher English Rose blogger review make up beauty
MUA Mosaic Blusher English Rose blogger review make up beauty

I absolutely love the MUA Mosaic Blusher English Rose (£2.50). It combines four gorgeous shades that when swirled together create the perfect natural blush shade. You can use a small amount for a natural look or build up for a more dramatic contoured look. It does have a beautiful sheen to it which can be worn subtly and it can also double as a highlight for your cheekbones, bridge of nose and underneath your eyebrows. It is quite shimmery (not so glittery), so keep that in mind if you like matt blushers.

I really like how there are so many colours in one blush to build up a better colour palette of pigmentation. MUA says that as all skin tones take different colours more prominently, using them all in one go, it will adapt to suit your skin tone, so this will look totally different on you and your BFF - I am yet to test this, but it sounds very promising!

As always with MUA products, the plastic package isn't sturdy but I still adore the beautiful mosaic - I didn't even want to spoil it by using it!

P.S. I have some little updates on my more personal blog Mademoiselle Lala EXTRA - so far it's mostly recipes (shocking!), but there isn't much to do in these Arctic conditions.

New Dove hair therapy

Dove has released a new daily care hair therapy range* called Dove Nutritive Solutions consisting of shampoo, two conditioners, hair mask and treatment shot. The three steps behind the new philosophy is to Cleanse, Nourish and Protect. I am impressed with the whole range and I can recommend it to anyone looking for a budget-friendly, daily hair care.

The Cleanse step is Dove Daily Care Shampoo which is, as the name suggests, aimed at a daily use. It has Pro-Moisture Complex which goes to a cellular level and the lightweight formula restores smoothness and shine without weighing hair down. I have been using it for a couple of weeks when I want to deep-cleanse my hair after some styling sessions and it gives me a clean hair smelling fresh.

Dove Daily Care Conditioner is a second step - Nourishement. Conditioner helps to detangle and smooth my hair. I adore the almond smell it the fact it doesn't weight my hair down. Conditioner also contains Pro-Moisture Complex.

The third step - Protection - includes three different products:
  • Dove Intensive Repair Leave-in Conditioning & Care Spray helps to prevent breakage and split-ends. I love the fact that it can be used on wet or dry hair in between washes for extra nourishment and softness. You just need to shake it and spray evenly onto hair - it absorbs very quickly. Leave-in conditioners for me are one of the best inventions, so I am very happy with this product.
  • Dove Intensive Repair Self Warming Mask consists of regenerating treatment mask and heat activating serum which together generate a gentle heat for a deep hair treatment. It helps to restore at the deepest layers and leave hair strong and shiny.
  • Dove Intensive Repair 60 Treatment Shot should be used weekly for intense care and repair. You simply apply after wash and massage into hair avoiding roots, leave on for 60 seconds and rinse out. I think it's a great product for those who are constantly on the run and don't have time for a proper hair mask and a pamper night. You can also take this shot on a holiday. The tube is generous in size and covered my hair perfectly.

DHC products review

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil DHC Velvet Skin Coat Pore Minimising range Moisture Care Lipstick Liquid Eyeliner EX Mascara Perfect Pro Double Protection DHC bbloggers beauty review make up skincare

DHC is a Japan’s No.1 online skincare company. DHC has fused its Japanese heritage and ancient beauty secrets together with the natural benefits of olive oil – the foundation of the skincare range. Made using high quality ingredients, the skincare range is free from parabens and unnecessary fragrances and colourings. The 4-Step ceremony has been widely used amongst Japanese women who believe that spending time and attention treating the skin is the secret to youth and vitality. The range comprises of four core products: (1) DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, (2) DHC Mild Soap, (3) DHC Mild Lotion and (4) DHC Olive Virgin Oil. I was invited to a DHC Bloggers Party to celebrate new releases of DHC products in the UK.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil DHC Velvet Skin Coat Pore Minimising range Moisture Care Lipstick Liquid Eyeliner EX Mascara Perfect Pro Double Protection DHC bbloggers beauty review make up skincare

I have already tried DHC Deep Cleansing Oil* as it was in one of my GlossyBox long time ago, and liked it. It is a water-soluble oil containing a rich blend of skin-loving vitamin E and hydrating olive oil. It helps unclog pores by clearing impurities and make-up, leaving your face a grime-free zone and rinses away to help leave skin fresh and clean. It is one of the best selling products which sells every 10 seconds.

DHC Velvet Skin Coat* is a primer in a form of a transparent silicone gel which helps to temporarily fill in fine lines and creates a silky-smooth make-up base. This is the best primer I have ever tried - great absorption, finish and formula. You only need a little bit to cover the face and it looks and feels so smooth on the skin. Highly recommended!

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil DHC Velvet Skin Coat Pore Minimising range Moisture Care Lipstick Liquid Eyeliner EX Mascara Perfect Pro Double Protection DHC bbloggers beauty review make up skincare

Pore Minimising range* has been specially formulated to visibly reduce the look of pores. Together, these products target clogged, saggy and enlarged pores to give you smoother, more youthful-looking skin. I do not suffer from the large pores, so I cannot comment on this range.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil DHC Velvet Skin Coat Pore Minimising range Moisture Care Lipstick Liquid Eyeliner EX Mascara Perfect Pro Double Protection DHC bbloggers beauty review make up skincare

Moisture Care Lipstick* is enriched with plumping collagen and nourishing lip colours provide beautiful shine and long-lasting coverage. They glide easily across the lips and have a delicate sheen finish. I was surprised that even the statement colours look very natural on the lips, so this lipstick is more a daytime choice and not for those who are looking for a strong statement. I love the sleek package of this lipstick - very chic!

Liquid Eyeliner EX* is richly-pigmented and water-resistant. It dries quickly and has a super-fine precision brush-tip pen, which makes it easy to draw thick or thin lines. I think its brush-tip is one of the best features. The package feels very luxurious and reminds me of a YSL Touche Eclat.

Mascara Perfect Pro Double Protection* is a very innovative product. Utilising tubing technology formula encapsulates lashes in polymer tubes that wear all day and night long. This means no flaking, smearing, smudging or need for make-up removers. When you’re ready to remove your mascara, simply splash your face with warm water and gently slide the tubes right of - there is no need for make up remover although I still prefer to seal it off with micellar water. It is very black and focuses more on lengthening the eyelashes rather than volume. I love the precision brush which is perfect for reaching in eye corners and capturing lower lashes.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm honey review beauty

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain is a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon. It has been on the shelves of the drugstores for a long time now. I have bought my first shade in Honey only recently. I have to say I was a little bit disappointed at first because the colour was very light - maybe it's because I have naturally very red lips. However, I tried building it up gradually with a hint of lip balm applied at the beginning and it works wonderfully as a natural day look. I am tempted to buy a couple of more now!

I absolutely love these amazing New Look Nude Ankle Strap Block Mid Heel Courts! They will be perfect for spring and so on trend at the same time. I love walking around London and it is hard to wander around in high heels for a couple of hours, so I am always on the lookout for something comfortable and stylish. These courts tick all the boxes by adding a subtle lift and can easily take me from an afternoon of shopping on Oxford Street to date night. They cost £19.99 and I saw them also in black and dark silver metal.

Superdrug's B. Pure Micellar Water

Superdrug's B. Pure Micellar Water review beauty bloggers bioderma sensibio H2O

I have been using Superdrug's B. Pure Micellar Water for over two weeks and it became a staple in my everyday routine. I want to clarify that I have never tested Bioderma SENSIBIO H2O, so cannot draw a comparison between the two.

Micellar water is this amazing concept which baffles me as a person who hated chemistry classes in school. I read a little more about it now and it became clearer: basically micelles dispersed in water  help to lift the impurities and make up without the usual hassle.

B. Pure Micellar Water has three purposes: (1) to gently cleanse and remove your make up, even around the eye, (2) to tone and restore pH balance whilst keeping the skin supple and (3) to refresh with cucumber juice extract. You simply apply it onto a cotton pad and sweep over the face. There is no need to rinse. It is suitable for vegetarians and vegans and is cruelty-free.

I use it to remove my make up (long gone are the days of facial wipes) and then rinse my face with the facial cleaner in the shower (at the moment it's Elemis Sensitive Cleansing Wash which I reviewed few weeks ago). I feel more clean and refreshed when I still use a face wash and it has been keeping my spots at bay. I also suffer much less from dryness, so I'm very happy about that!

I am happy with the product except the fact that it does not remove eye make up easily. I am not using waterproof mascaras, but it still have a problem to get it off and it sometimes stings my eyes. I have read that I am not the only one suffering and apparently Bioderma is better in this department.

All in all, I am very happy with the product, but when I finish it I think I want to try and test Bioderma.

jacket* - Ravi Famous, jeans - New Look, shoes - New Look,
  hairband - Primark,
lips - Sleek Cherry

I have been planning to wear this amazing Ravi Famous jacket for ages now, but the horrible London weather is doing everything in its power to stop me! I finally had enough and decided to wear it today (but of course with a huge umbrella!). Baseball jackets are going to be huge this season and I am very grateful for mine in a nice burgundy colour with pockets and a hood.

I am still in love with a little bit of statement lips and Sleek's lipstick in Cherry does an amazing job also moisturising my lips - one of the best lipsticks ever!

GlossyBox: March 2013

GlossyBox: March 2013 review
GlossyBox: March 2013 review

This is this time of the month for a review of another GlossyBox. I am still waiting for my February GlossyBox. As usual, customer service of this company is just appalling and after e-mailing them so many times the issue is still not resolved.

The theme of this month's box is City Chic - glossy, groomed look city girls maintain. As a bonus, there is also a city guide with insider tips whether you want to visit Austria, Japan or Brazil. I do not see the point of this booklet to be honest, I wish they would concentrate on a beauty stores/brands/treatments from every country. If someone wants to visit Sweden, I bet they will buy their own guide-book or search the Internet.

In overall, I really like this box, I will make use of everything and I like how it has products varying from nails, hair, lips and body. The huge downfall is the product size - only one item is full-sized and the rest are tiny samples!

Nails Inc Nail Polish - I got a tiny sample version of a beautiful colour in Bruton Street. As with every Nails Inc product, it is easy to apply and has a good quality. I adore the shade - so classy and chic and I may repurchase it after I run out of it. Sadly, I won't have to wait too long as the bottle has a mere 4ml of polish.

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush - it is in a frosty-pink shade, which I don't personally buy myself, but I was happy to see that looks nice on the lips. The concept is similar to Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, but in a less sturdy package. I like JPP products, because they are cruelty free and all in all it is a nice addition to my lipstick collection.

TRESemme Salon Finish Extra Hold Hairspray - I owned few hairsprays from this range and they simply get a job done. I have nothing extraordinary to report on this rather than the fact that this small bottle will go with me on a holiday or in a bag as a touch up in a frizzy-hair situations.

L'Occitane En Provence Brightening Hand Care SPF 15 - great hand cream which gives protection and moisturise on the go. I would love the get a bigger sample of this or a full-sized product - I can only use it a 3-4 times, really disappointing.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Fragrance Free - the biggest disappointment of the whole box. Not to mention that I don't like this cream - especially the consistency and the smell (yes - it does smell!) the sample is so tiny! I feel Elizabeth Arden representative would give me a bigger sample over the counter.

Primark Fashion Lust List

This is my current Primark Fashion Lust List. I saw compilation of their upcoming/recent releases and just couldn't deny myself a pleasure to make a wishlist for next time I'm using my elbows shopping at Tottenham Court Road.

I love the three dresses here - two floral ones perfect for spring and summer and a classic stripy navy/Parisian chic which will not go out of style. Two t-shirts would be perfect additions to my wardrobe too - although I may attempt to DIY the black one myself. I still don't have any pair of disco pants and these red ones seem great. The black studded saddle bag, blue sandals and jewelled earrings seem like perfect accessories.

Is there anything in Primark which caught your eye recently?

My first Muji storage

My first Muji storage
My first Muji storage

I was lucky to get my first Muji storage from my husband this month. I think getting this clear box is like a rite of passage for the beauty bloggers I know and read, so I guess I officially am the one! What else can be better to present your beautiful collection of many, many lipsticks, powders, nail polishes and mascaras than this? Sturdy and clear boxes are the best way to keep dust at bay and provide a nice display of your most-coveted or mostly-reached products.

In mine are the current luxury products I like and use like Chanel Illuminating Powder, Benefit Hervana Blusher and RapidShield Eyelash Conditioner. It's really nice to have a little shrine of my favourite products!

Do you have Muji storage? Do you like it?

This day is finally here: BAN ON ANIMAL TESTING!

I honestly want to get on the rooftops and scream with joy. After years of campaigning, pleading, lobbying and numerous petitions we're celebrating the news that from today, the EU is banning all animal testing for cosmetics. The ban prevents the import and sale of animal tested products and ingredients across the EU.

On Monday 11 March 2013, the import and sale of animal-tested products and ingredients within the EU will finally be banned, with no exceptions. The long-awaited and overdue ban marks a huge victory for laboratory animals.

This amazing victory for animals and their advocates sends an unequivocal international signal in support of cruelty-free beauty, particularly to countries such as China, who still demand animal testing for cosmetics.

From this day forwards, anyone wishing to sell new cosmetic products and ingredients within the EU must not have tested them on animals anywhere in the world. The ban covers all cosmetics, including toiletries and beauty products, from soap to toothpaste and from lipstick to mascara.

The EU Commission predicts that up to 27,000 animals per year could be saved now that the ban is to be implemented.

Although it seems huge, it is only a small step in the global ban direction. More information can be found on an amazing website Beauty Without The Beasts - read the article here.

beauty, minted, nail polish, nails, NOTD, review, Nails Inc, Revlon, NAILS: Nails Inc Feathers York

Ever since I saw the information about new Nails Inc releases, I fall in love with the feather effect. I especially loved the combination of peach and white colours, which can create amazing understated or over-the-top nails. The nail polish was on my February Beauty Lust List and I was very lucky to get it from my husband.

I wanted to create a very delicate nails and used Revlon Peach Nectar as a base. You can see that it almost blends with my skin tone. Then I used Nails Inc Feathers York. It was very easy to apply and the particles are not hard to get out of the bottle - very important aspect, as I struggled a couple of times with some Models OWN glitter nail polishes. I have only two thin coats of both nail polishes here and I put top coat to preserve the effect. The result is very soft and gentle, but I already plan to do something more adventurous next time.

Another review of the MUA palette. This time it's Glitter Ball full of sparkle and glam. Even though all the shades here are very glittery and pigmented, you don't have to worry that they will fall down on your face or cheeks when wearing. The colours vary from blues and blacks to purples and pinks. Some of the shades can be worn softly during the day and later built up for a night out. I've used the amazing copper gold in the bottom with a primer and it stayed perfectly all day and night. Great choice for clubbing! As usual, I'll only complain about the plastic package and the applicator.

Butter London Lips and Tips Frilly Knickers Set, nail polish, lip gloss, beauty review glitter

Butter London Lips and Tips Frilly Knickers set (£21) is part of Butter London’s range of Lippy and Nail Polish Duo Sets. The idea is that you have both a lippy and nail lacquer to match! I have recently bought another duo set in Shambolic from TK Maxx for a more purse-friendly price of £7 and I know there are other colours available, so I with it's worth to check it out.

Frilly Knickers is an understated clear glitter shade – the lippy is perfect alone or over the top of your existing lipstick. The lip gloss is pigmented and smells absolutely amazing - so sweet that it's good enough to eat.

The nail polish is perfect alone or you can use it on top of your manicure. The particles are really tiny and they reflect the light beautifully - I think the quality is the best I've ever seen. Usually glitter is a lot bigger and can look chunky, but with this nail polish it's so delicate and classy. I've painted my nails once with it and got a lot of compliments.

GOSH Spring/Summer 2013 collection

GOSH Spring/Summer 2013, beauty review
Yesterday I went to the Spring/Summer 2013 GOSH preview. GOSH is a Denmark-based hip and trendy brand of cosmetics and in the UK they are sold in Superdrug. As far as I know, they are not most popular beauty bloggers brand. I wish the products were more often on offer, I think that would help with the brand recognition and retail. They do not test on animals and are preservative free. So far, I've tested few GOSH products (like matte top coat and nail glitter) and liked them, so I was excited to find out what GOSH has for us this Spring and Summer. (All products were gifted to me for review purposes.)

GOSH Spring/Summer 2013, beauty review
The most important launch and a new products to the whole range is Growth Mascara (£8.49) and Growth Serum (£14.99). Both serum and mascara contain an active ingredient called SymPeptide which lengthens and thickens the eyelashes. Apparently the results can be visible within 2 weeks, so stay tuned for my full review of these products in a fortnight. I am really excited about the serum, because it is the first product of this kind that you can buy at a drugstore. There is wide-known RapidShield Eyelash Daily Conditioner (my review here), but it's more on a pricey side of over £25.

GOSH Spring/Summer 2013, beauty review
GOSH adds six new colours to their nail polish range, which are perfect for the upcoming seasons. From left to right: Greed, Girls on Film, High School Flirt, Venus, Tropicana and Tilted Blue. I expect Venus and Tropicana to be sell-outs - they are so on trend at the moment! Each nail polish costs £4.99.

GOSH Spring/Summer 2013, beauty review
Another new product is The Ultimate Eyeliner - With a Twist (£5.99) in Kind of Blue, Raw Grey and Back in Black from the top. These eyeliners have great colours and allow very precise and soft application. Shortly after applying you can blend it with the attached smudger that is placed in the other end of the eyeliner, and allow it to dry for a super long wear finish. As you can see, the eyeliner has a rubbery 'grip zone' which can be a godsend for those with the trembling hands. You don't have to sharpen them as they simply twist up, which is another plus from me.
You can also see two Velvet Touch Eyeliners (£4.99 each) at the bottom. GOSH added two new colours to this range: Fashionista which is a glittery deep blue and Renaissance Gold. They are soft, easy to apply and give good coverage, which can be toned down with applicator or a brush. They also contain Vitamin E and jojoba oil.

GOSH Spring/Summer 2013, beauty review
BB Skin Perfecting Kit - Highlighter & Concealer (£9.99) is also new to the brand. This allows you to sculpt your face, which is nowadays very popular (mainly thanks to Kim Kardashian posting her in-the-middle-of-make-up-application looks on Instagram). You can reshape and sculpt your face for instant cover, lift and high lighting more easily than ever before. This is perfect make up for natural looking skin. It comes in two colour combinations: Light and Medium, so darker faces will have to look for an alternative.

Do you like the Spring/Summer collection?
Is there anything you would like to try?
