New Radox additions: Cherry Blast, Berry Burst and Coconut Kiss

New Radox additions: Cherry Blast, Berry Burst and Coconut Kiss, review, beauty

I recently went to a launch of new additions to Radox family. I think everyone is familiar with the brand - it's fruity scented and quirky products are great to take a nice shower or a relaxing bath. The new range consists of three products: Cherry Blast Shower Gel, Berry Burst Shower Cream and Coconut Kiss Shower Cream.

Cherry Blast is a delicious blend of juicy cherries and zesty citrus and it's a perfect companion if you need a little bit of wake-me-up and revival. Cherries are my favourite fruits, so I have been really enjoying using it!

Berry Burst is full of a fabulous smell of berries and milk. It is a shower cream, so it's a little bit different to the Cherry Blast, but will still leave you clean and fresh.

Coconut Kiss is perfect for those who love the coconut smell. It is quite luxurious and you don't get this artificial smell of coconuts. It is also a shower cream and I was enjoying putting it to my bath - my skin smelled gorgeous for hours!

I know that probably every beauty blogger already has this palette and has already written a review of it, but I simply have to add few things of my own. There is a long standing debate which eyeshadows are better: Urban Decay Naked/Naked 2 palettes or MUA Heaven and Earth and Undressed palettes.

I absolutely love the first two, although from swatches - I am beginner in eye make up and didn't want to spend £36 on a start. I know how beauty bloggers rave about the pigmentation and I must say I was apprehensive whether MUA will step up and deliver similar results. I must say that for £4 the results are amazing and it is definitely a must-have palette for every girl.

The colours are pigmented, they are easy to blend and work with. The only issue I have is the package - it's cheap plastic and not sturdy. It's very easy to leave some marks on it and for it to get dirty, but I guess you need to compromise if you want a price that low! I don't carry palettes in my bag anyway, so I know mine will look nice still for a while.

coat - New Look, leggings - H&M, shoes - vintage (my mum's),
hat - ASOS, scarf - H&M, bag - Paul's Boutique

I love these amazing vintage boots that my mum gave to me for my stay at home. I don't even want to take them to London, because they would be too warm, so I am glad I can wear them now with the cold winter out here. It's snowing almost every day and it's super cold in the morning and evening (when we're taking doggie for a walk), but I am still enjoying it!

Look how beautiful are the snow petals on my turban hat! I am so glad they managed to sneak on the photos! I bought this ASOS hat last year and I have to say it is one of the best buys - it looks great and keeps my ears warm. I got a lot of compliments on it, so I guess everyone likes it!

Topshop make up products are one of the things which are usually on my wishlist, because I tend to buy in Boots or Superdrug, where I can earn some advantage points to justify my splurges, even if a little bit. I got this amazing palette for Christmas and it is so gorgeous I wasn't sure I wanted to spoil it!

Topshop Smokey Eye Palette Constellation has four amazing eyeshadows and an applicator. The package is sturdy with a rubber-feel, so I think carrying it in the bag for a long time can leave its mark on the palette. It comes with the little leaflet with step by step on how to create a perfect smokey eye. The eyeshadows are not as pigmented as MUA or Urban Decay palettes, but they still give a good coverage especially with the eyeshadow primer. I really love how you can create a changing day-to-evening look with this palette.

3LAB Super Cream

3LAB Super Cream review
3LAB Super Cream review

I was lucky to attend a launch of the latest 3LAB product: Super Cream. Erica Chung, co-founder and creator of the brand talked about her quest to create the perfect product and commitment to the brand. 3LAB uses technology developed in their own laboratories, so it can provide the very best result in skincare. I was extremely impressed with the products available and especially the Super Cream, which is luxurious, ingredient-rich cream and helps to improve the skin tone and texture in matter of days.

We were given a tiny sample* (4ml), as the full-sized product (50ml) retails exclusively in Harvey Nichols for a hefty £630! It's safe to say it's the most luxurious product I have ever had opportunity to use and it really is amazing! When I applied it in the evening, as a night-cream, I've woken up with a smooth and radiant skin. I guess you'd have to choose between that new Louis Vuitton bag and a younger looking skin. How much would you pay for a wrinkle-free face?

I love this nude and calm shade of Revlon Cloud nail polish. I even like the name of it - doesn't the fun name of the nail polish make it even cuter and more likely to wear? I am still on my quest to use every nail polish I own at least once before I buy a new one (a small cheating here aka MUA haul), so I added the blue Radiant on top. I thought that the effect will be better, but still can't complain of a little bit of sparkle!

I am now in Poland and as you can see it is proper winter out here! The car got stuck in the snow twice already and my husband fall down on ice almost three times! It is not that cold (yet!), but the amount of snow is both electrifying and terrifying. I'm glad I got these boots from my dad last Christmas and that I brought lots of warm clothes.

Of course I couldn't wait to wear my super cute River Island fox hat. It is literally one of the cutest things ever and I remember how happy I was when I finally found it. It's adorable, warm and foxy - perfection!

GlossyBox: January 2013

January GlossyBox arrived just in time before I went on holiday. I didn't spoil fun for myself and didn't look what may be in the box, I only knew that this month's theme is Detox. To be honest I am disappointed, I was expecting more full-sized products or at least bigger samples.

Elemis Fresh Skin Skin Glow - I am very excited to use this product, because I have never used anything from Elemis. It has a nice smell when I've sniffed the package, but it turned into something very chemical upon application. It is a nice exfoliating face wash, the particles are big enough to do the good job. I wasn't that impressed - just a normal product.

Paul Mitchell Super Strong Daily Shampoo - I tried Paul Mitchell's products once or twice and I was impressed with the lasting effects. This shampoo smells really nice and gave me a nice shine. I think the bottle is too small to see the prolonged result, but this is a nice product.

Duck Island Limited Body Lotion - first impressions are that the bottle is very cute and I like the duck logo. When you apply lotion to your skin, you can immediately feel its hydrating effect. It also helps that it is absorbed immediately. The only thing I don't like is the Mandarin & Bergamot smell, which is too overpowering for me. I think with a different scent, it would be my favourite product  from this GlossyBox!

Jason Lips Bee Healthier - this is a natural lip balm stick which contains Beeswax, Vitamin E, Green Tea Extract, organic Aloe Vera, Shea Butter and Almond Oil. It has a minty taste and smell. The texture is very thick and dense, so it's hard to apply it on your lips, but once you break it - it glides a little better. I don't need another lip balm, so I think, I'll give it to someone else.

Monu Aromatic Mask - this is a warming aromatic mask with natural clay, lavender and rosemary. At first I thought that it is one of the ugliest beauty products I have ever seen, but the lavender smell gave me hope that it still may be good. Also, only after I looked into the GlossyBox newsletter, I saw that this is a sample and the actual bottle looks much more luxurious. I look forward to try it, it seems that it can give a deep cleanse and boost my dry winter skin.

What did you get in your GlossyBox?

One of H&M Spring Looks

I've received little H&M lookbook on spring trends yesterday and since then I have this one look before my eyes. I am very happy that floral trends are going strong and I know I can get a lot of looks out of this top (£12.99) and trousers (£14.99)! To say that I am very excited about spring is an understatement - I can't wait for wearing less layers and ditching hats, gloves and scarves. I will finally wear the shoes I want, not the sensible ones!

Easy make up tips for beginners on clean-tone-moisturise routine, primer, foundation, powder, blusher, eye shadow primer and eyshadows.

make up, beauty, review, primer, eye shadows, blusher, foundation, powder, MUA. Urban Decay, MAC, tutorial, tips, easy make up tips for beginners

On Tuesday I attended Three Hour MAC Make-up Masterclass at Make-up London Academy. I've paid £38 in total for everything using Groupon deal for the first time ever (the normal price is £190!). One of my New Year resolutions is to learn a little bit more about make up - especially how to play with the eyeshadows and create perfect cat eyes. So when I saw this deal back in November, I decided to give it a go. I was able to choose between morning, afternoon and evening times and I decided to go for 1.30pm slot thinking it will be less crowded. I was very happy to see there were only 6 girls (including me).

The deal included learning skills like false lash application, smoky eye, day and evening looks, flawless base technique and blush tips (we covered almost everything) and a goodie bag featuring MAC eyeliner or lip gloss (I was given MAC Eye Kohl with no other choices). All make-up and equipment was supplied and we used MAC products throughout (with the exception of Illamasqua eyeliner).

The class was divided into two parts. First one lasting around 2 hours was a lecture with a demonstration on how to take care of your skin, prepare it for the make up application and how to create the look. The second part was the time to put the knowledge into practice and trying to create smoky eye look on yourself (that's why I was glad that the class was small - usually you can only practice on someone else, but because there were only 6 of us, we were fine to do it on ourselves). I was only taking a rough notes, so if there's something specific you want to ask me, let me know in the comment or on Twitter!

The first bit was about the routine: clean - tone - moisturise - and the importance of it. Remember to put your cleaner from the middle of your face to the edges in a slightly circular motions. I never use the toner, I have bad memories of tight and dry skin from my high school and early uni days, but I was told to avoid alcohol-based toners and maybe opt for the rose water instead. Using toner is important, because it closes the pores and prevents make up dirt from entering. When moisturising, remember to adapt your product to your foundation. There's nothing worse than using water-based moisturizer and then oil-based foundation (we all know what happens when we mix oil and water together!).

Primer is an essential part of a make up application, because it not only prepares our skin by smoothing it for a easy foundation strokes, but also acts as a barrier between make up particles and our skin. Never put it straight from the tube, warm it up in the hands first and then massage it onto your skin. It's also good to keep your primer in a cool place, so in the summer you can put it into the fridge. I am using primer every time I apply foundation and I must say that I love it. My skin is smooth and foundation looks better with it. My current primers are Nivea Daily Essentials Express Hydration Primer and Benefit That Gal. Just remember not to put foundation straight after applying the primer - always wait a minute of two - I usually use this time to pack my bag!

There are plenty of MAC foundations available and we were slowly walked through them. Safe to say that if I had that knowledge last year, I wouldn't have wasted £30 for the wrong MAC foundation which I never use now! The best way is to test 2 or 3 different colours close to each other on your jawline and check which one 'melts' into your skin. The purpose of the foundation is not to cover the imperfections, but to even out the skin. Also, NC and NW letters on MAC foundations represent the cooler or warmer undertones of our skin - very useful tip! To light up certain areas on your face like under your eyes, use a lighter foundation or famous YSL Touche Éclat (just keep in mind that it was designed to light up, not to conceal the dark circles!).
When you apply a second set of products on your face, you have to use powder on top to settle it. There are loose and pressed powders and their job is to set and mattify. Loose powder is just transparent and if you want an extra bit of coverage - you go for the pressed powder.

In terms of blusher, use very soft brush to apply and blend it in until there are no lines. Use small round strokes and go a little bit in the direction of your temples to make it look more natural.

One of my recent discoveries and important steps in a flawless make up is eyeshadow primer. Seriously try it at home on the back of your arm - put an eyeshadow alone and eyeshadow primer with the same shade on top. I guarantee you that the difference will be shocking! You need only a small amount on your eyelids, so it will last you a long time. Plenty of beauty bloggers swear by Urban Decay Eyshadow Primer Potion (£14.50), but since I'm a beginner, I didn't want spend that much and bought MUA Eye Primer (£2.50) and I really like it.

When applying eyeshadows, don't be afraid to mix them up. Apply on the eye socket and blend them with a fluffy brush using small circles. When doing your eye make up is the last step, you may know the pain of eyeshadow particles getting on your cheeks and face. The good way to prevent it is to apply a considerable dose of a powder underneath your eyes and on the top of your cheeks before, so when you've finished your eye make up, you can remove the powder easily with the 'dirt' using Large Fan Face Brush. Using this extra powder can dry your skin, so it's good idea to apply extra eye cream. If you want to see close up of my eye make up, it's on my Instagram (mademoiselle_lala) here and here.

That's all I have, I hope you've enjoyed the post and maybe learnt something. I know that it is all very basic and a lot of you probably know it all, but for me it is good to have something for reference in one place.

I wanted to try this green nail polish for ages, but there was never a good opportunity. I finally used it a couple of days ago and it's perfect! Not too dark, not to flashy. I can't wait to wear it in summer with some tan. To add a little sparkle, I put Snowflakes on top - I just couldn't resist!

How to beat the frizzy hair: Lee Stafford I Hate My Hair The Day It's Washed Solution Spray

How to beat the frizzy hair: Lee Stafford I Hate My Hair The Day It's Washed Solution Spray review
How to beat the frizzy hair: Lee Stafford I Hate My Hair The Day It's Washed Solution Spray review

Another day, another beauty review. I am sorry about that, but I am going down with a cold and the last thing I want is to take outfit photos. I am trying to fight it really bad, but the weather outside doesn't help.

So I've bought Lee Stafford I Hate My Hair The Day It's Washed Solution Spray on a whim (£6.19 in Boots). During the winter I suffer from the frizzy hair and I absolutely hate it. There's nothing worse than trying to tame your hair when taking off your hat or wearing woolly jumper or coat. I can only compare it with hair sticking to freshly applied lip gloss on the lips! Once or twice I even saw my frizzed hair stuck to someone's arm on the tube!!! I know I'm electrifying, but this is way too much!

This solution spray promises to solve my problem of frizzy hair and flyaways. You just spray the product on a freshly washed and conditioned hair when it is still wet. I just add it to my normal routine. I wash my hair in the evenings, dry it with a hairdryer and then go to sleep. I must say that because of that I wasn't sure if the product is going to work, but I am happy to report that it still does! I've noticed my hair being less static and frizzy, I have very few flyaways and I cannot believe it actually works! The smell is OK, it's like a hairdresser product and I cannot complain. The product will last me ages and I like how you can choose yourself on the cap you want to have. All in all, another great product from Lee Stafford!

LUSH Let The Good Times Roll Facial Cleanser

LUSH Let The Good Times Roll Facial Cleanser review
LUSH Let The Good Times Roll Facial Cleanser review
LUSH Let The Good Times Roll Facial Cleanser review

I cannot even describe how amazing this LUSH facial cleanser smells. You honsetly need to try it to get it. I thought that nothing can beat the sweet popcorn smell of the LUSH Popcorn Lip Scrub, but I might have been wrong. I've bought this product along with few other items during the Chirstmas sales, and I was good in doing so, because this is LUSH's Christmas product and I think next time we'll see it on the shelves, will be in December. But I just cannot deny myself the pleasure of reviewing it.

Let The Good Times Roll is a facial wash, which you mix with warm water in the palm of your hand. It turns then into a milky paste that you massage onto your face. It is not a very gentle cleanser, despite what it says on the pot, I would describe it more as an exfoliator/cleanser, so the sensitive/dry types of skin should be careful when applying. I use it almost everyday and gently spread across my face. I love how it leaves my skin gently moisturized, unlike other products I do not get this tight feeling on my face after using it.

I think the winning part of the cleanser is the smell - buttery caramel and popcorn! One of its ingredients IS popcorn and even though I read it on the label, I was still pretty shocked to see it in the pot! All in all, a truly great product and I know I will buy a new pot at the end of the year!

My recent perfumes: Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker and Ghost Moonlight

My recent perfumes: Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker and Ghost Moonlight

I recently received two different perfumes and I thought about writing little reviews, even though I find it always super hard to describe a perfume. For me, as for everyone, scent is something I remember for a long time and each perfume I own carries some memories. I am eager to make new ones with my two additions.

My recent perfumes: Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker and Ghost Moonlight

For Christmas, I got a Lovely perfume by Sarah Jessica Parker. I am a fan of celebrity perfumes - I don't think there's nothing wrong with them, especially if you like the smell! I know that this particular scent is not new and has been around for a while. I remember even reading article in some magazine when it was launching that there were hundreds of shoes on the set of the commercial for this bottle, but Sarah decided in the end that she wants to be barefoot. I absolutely adore the bottle - it is simple and chic and reminds me of a ballet dancer. I wasn't too sure about the scent in the beginning, but when it builds up - it smells lovely. I really like its fruity scent with the notes of orchids, apple martini and white amber. It's very classy and feminine and I've been wearing it most days.

My recent perfumes: Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker and Ghost Moonlight

Recently launched Ghost Moonlight* is a different story. Its scent is more sensual and darker, so I like to wear it on a night out. I think the best words to describe the scent are oriental flowers. The base notes are white chocolate, amber and sandalwood, but it also has bergamot and ginger in top notes. I have never owned Ghost perfumes, but I love how vibrant, spicy and fresh notes compliment delicate accords.

Look Beauty Make Me Blush Blusher

There is currently a 50% off sale on all Look Beauty products at Superdrug. I am familiar to the brand only through bloggers and so far didn't see anything I really liked. I think you can get better products that cost less or invest in better ones. The packages also didn't quite take my fancy. However, because of the offer I decided to try out one of their blushers.

Look Beauty Make Me Blush Blusher in Flush (Shade 2) has a gorgeous shade of dark coral with glitter to give this extra sparkle. It is generously sized and for £4 (regular price £8) I decided to go for it. Blusher is one of my staple products, which I cannot live without, so I am sure I will make plenty of uses out of this one.

The package is sleek and nice, but there is no clasp, so I would be worried for the product to open accidentally when carrying it in my bag. I like that there is a big mirror, but I hate that there is no brush. I think I am too used to my Bourjois blushers which come with the tiny brush (although plenty of bloggers hate these brushes, I think they're amazing for the touch up on the go!). I may look what else Look Beauty has to offer. I saw on Superdrug website that there are some good sets aka Look Look Books.

This is what I wore to meet up few of my favourite blogging girls yesterday for a dinner, drinks and some dancing. I just recently bought this ASOS top and believe it or not it is my first peplum piece EVER! I have no idea how it happened to a fast fashion addict like me, but apparently nothing took my fancy before. I am still not completely satisfied with this top, but white is such a safe choice, I'm going to keep it. I'm also wearing this absolutely gorgeous New Look necklace which I grabbed last month during their 2 for 1 offer. Can't wait to wear the second one, I think this neon pink will look great in the summer.
